We stayed one night at this wonderful B&B. Jane is very welcoming & the tea & scone revived us after being caught in heavy rain in Oakham.
We were taken up the multi coloured marble staircase & show to our room which was called Peacock. The lovely photos on Jane's website do not do it justice; it was bright, clean & fresh with a wonderful ambiance. The ensuite was spacious & the water pressure in the shower was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable & the pillows were excellent.
We loved the reclaimed floors, they add character & quality. The views from the first floor lounge towards Rutland Water are to die for; lounging in the leather sofa looking out of the window was a real treat.
Breakfast was tasty & plentiful. The yolks on the fried eggs were the yellowest I've ever seen. The sausage & bacon were home produced & the bread for the toast was sourced from a local bakery.
Don't stay here if you want bland corporate hospitality, do stay if you want tasteful & well thought out accommodation & an owner who makes you feel part of the family as soon as you arrive.
