Little Grey Cottage Bed & Breakfast

We stayed two nights recently at Little Grey Cottage. It's location is really perfect, for The Eden Project, Charlestown,Fowey and the like.
your host Marian is lovely, and there was a pot of tea & coffee on the lawn, waiting for us, as soon as we arrived.
the garden is worth mentioning, for it is a proper secret garden complete with pond, where you can escape and catch up on that holiday book.
we were in Room number one, which is a double, quite compact, but beautifully clean & tidy and the bed is so comfortable.
broadband is available, but i couldn't get it to work in the bedroom. there is a lounge with large flatscreen and a good supply of books & information, where you can surf ok.
breakfast was superb and kept us going all day. plenty of choice, cereals, fresh fruit and juices.
full english for those like me, with a desperate dan appetite.
we ate out only the once, and had a nice meal at The Brittania Inn, which is located nearby on the A390 between St. Austell & St.Blazey.
the menu is fairly comprehensive and they serve up typical pub grub fare, which is reasonable and will cost you about £20 a head for two courses.

Summarizing then, we had a perfect two days and should Elbow play the Eden Sessions again, we will be back like a shot.

Absolutely perfect location if you are visiting one of the Eden Sessions and want somewhere to stay within walking distance... which is why we initially chose it. However, it is also in close proximity to Charlestown, Fowey and Polkerris Beach... all locations anyone would want to explore in this area.
The proprietor cooked probably one of the best full English breakfasts I've ever eaten and she is are incredibly welcoming and helpful but at the same time respects your privacy... We're heading back here for a whole week next month! Literally cannot wait!

We stayed here 4 nights. The Hostess was very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. the location is a little away from the city, but it is very quiet and within walking distance from the Eden Project. The hostess is a long time resident of the area and can tell you of many places to visit. The rooms are very nice and well maintained. The breakfasts were very good. We would choose to stay there again when we are in the area.

Room Tip: Suggest the En-suit bathroom.

Such a beautiful place, and to be greeted on arrival by a pot, not just a cup of tea, endless biscuits and big mugs for your room show that the small things really do matter. Yes you will need a torch to walk the mile and a half to the Eden project (which your host provides in your room!!) but there are a couple of great pubs for surprisingly good value seafood! ... The Britannia inn, and the lovely owner Marian even offered to give us a lift! The actual house is homely and cosy with a garden too. The idea of ordering your breakfast the evening before works well, there is a great choice and it means there is no waiting p, just effect service...we.ll defiant,eh be coming back LITTLE GREY COTTAGE! :)

Room Tip: ROOM 1 was perfect

Stayed for a week at this lovely bed and breakfast. A wonderful combination of quiet and seclusion and being within easy reach of the delights of Cornwall. Master suite was huge with plenty of room for storage (we don't travel light!). A spotless bathroom and in the mornings a delicious breakfast to set you up for the day.

The Little Grey Cottage in Trethurgy is a lovely little B&B in beautiful surroundings. Mick and Marion are perfect hosts, providing a fantastic breakfast to set you up for the day and giving us directions for a lovely walk to the Eden Project (all up hill on way back, so beware if you have difficulty walking), also gave good advice on where to go for an evening meal. I can recommend Wreckers in Charlestown for this, a bit slow but food was lovely. The only slight criticism I can put forward is the size of the double ensuite room, it is very small ... perfectly well fitted out, but would describe as compact and bijou. This in no way would put me off visiting again, as it was beautiful and I enjoyed my stay. I would highly recommend this B&B.
