The riverside Sagarika Tourist Lodge is the well decorated lodge for anyone else like any family, any couple, any business organizer, or even for an individual. We went there with our friends and enjoy a lot a few days back...Have a good journey

They have well maintained good big rooms. The food is prepared freshly and tastes good. But 9 out of ten rooms are mainroad facing making it really really difficult to sleepnat night as heavy vehicles keep going in that route throughout the night! Really really difficult to sleep if you are a light sleeper.

But rooms are well maintained for a govt property.

Note: Checkout time is 9 AM and the management is unnecessarily finicky over the same and not at all flexible with even small requests.

The Lodge, located a ten minute walk from the railway station, has recently got a facelift. The new Annexe rooms, only slightly costlier than those in the old block, are very good for the price (about Rs. 2000 a day). Very good for a short and leisurely holiday, alone or with family. You can unwind from your room itself, watching the river changing mood all day and night, through the large window. Take a walk along the promenade in the early morning and late evening. The food at the Lodge is expensive but good. Much better in every way than the so-called best private hotel at DH, even the behaviour of the staff. The checkout time, 9 a.m., is a little inconvenient though. Should be 12 noon.

Room Tip: Insist on a river facing room

This is the review of the lodge's dining facilities as we traveled for a day trip.

Location: On the highway between Diamond Harbour Station and Raichak, on the river bank. Parking available for small cars.
Food: Mostly bengali lunch items. Try the fishes. Food is OK for tourists and nothing to complain about, but tastes average
Ambiance: clean, very spacious dining hall (Can easily cater to 100+ eaters if the entire place is utilised.
Service: Quite good for a large government tourist lodge dining hall.
Price: Quite affordable for all and VFM. They accept credit cards too.

We stayed for 1 night in this tourist lodge which is just in front of the sea. Location wise it is really very good. If you book a sea facing room , from the balcony in the room you can enjoy the sea. The rooms are spacious and have a/c in the room. You need to book it through West Bengal Tourism. The rates are reasonable and you will get chapter rates on weekdays. I took a sea facing room and really enjoy the sea. You will also get breakfast in the morning- either Luchi or toast omlate . You can also keep your car by paying extra.
