We stayed in the Anna-Maria room of the Pension, it's the largest room with a form of living room, bedroom and bathroom. The room is cut into the cliff and there is rough cut stone in the bedroom and bathroom. The bed is super comfy and the bath delightful after a day of exploring the beautiful Old Town of Cesky Krumlov.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and speak good English. The breakfast is continental, but delicious and filling.

Highly recommended for couples looking for a special weekend away. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: Ask for the Anna-Maria room, it is is the biggest at 47m2 and has so much character.

Very special old house. Nice, comfortable and beautiful stay. We had a great night here. Also good location, just beside river, easy to go around the town. Not far from bus stop as well. The house owners are nice and warm. Breakfast is also good. Shortly, it's a good choice!

We stayed in Pension Kapr for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. It was nice staying in an old place in an old town. But, even though the Pension is in an old building, it was quite nice and modern inside, with plenty of outlets in the room to charge our electronic devices. Our room was quite big (there were 3 of us, and we had a big room, that was actually two rooms with a foyer and large bathroom). Jonas, the owner's son, was very helpful and took good care of us. Cesky Krumlov is beautiful, although it was rainy while we were there. The Pension had a bucket full of umbrellas for the guests to use. We went rafting one day, which I would also recommend.

Stayed here last April. It is the family's house, very friendly, but they don't speak English. However, lovely big room with a great view, clean, perfectly located, peaceful right beside the river, walkable anywhere within Cesky Krumlov. HUGE breakfasts. My only concern is - were they flooded in the floods of 2013? I hope not - I'd stay here again.

For those on the forums asking how to get there from the bus ... take a cab! It's cheap, and then you'll know where it is and how to get around. There are usually cabs waiting for the buses from Prague.

Room Tip: Big room second floor over the river! Ahhhh!

We originally booked this hotel for just one night but liked it and the town so much we stayed for a second night, although we had to move to another room. The building is a 500-year-old fisherman's house redone with exquisite taste by the architect owner. Each of the four rooms is named after the child of the owners: We stayed in the Jonas and Stefan rooms. The view from the windows of the river and village is magical. We found the service to be excellent. They easily accommodated our request for two beds and son Stefan, who looked after us, was attentive and friendly and spoke excellent English. The cold breakfast was filling and adequate. Our stay here will remain one of the high points of our trip to the Czech Republic.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor are probably preferable to the room on the first floor. Tall people will h...

I think what prevented us from rating this pension a 5 out of 5 stars was the hospitality from the owners. When we arrived, we hadn't even moved our luggage into our room and were already being asked for the payment for the room (as we had just told them that we were driving for the last 4 hours to get here, a couple of minutes would have been appreciated to put our bags down). The room was good (we stayed in the Anna-Maria room), but we were also a bit surprised that we were only provided a bath towel each and no hand towels or face towels (in this room, the bath tub is in a separate room from the sink - so when you washed your face before , you had a damp towel from that morning's bath as the dehumidifier really wasn't that efficient). Location was fantastic, very quiet and cool, despite the heat wave. When we were leaving, we could hear the owners talking to each other upstairs, despite ringing the call bell they have a few feet from the door 3 times, they didn't bother to come and collect the key from us, let alone so we could say good-bye. I would stay elsewhere if we go back to Cesky Krumlov. Breakfast was good. English channel didn't work (lots of audio static), wifi worked like a charm.
