We only allowed one afternoon for Cesky Krumlov on our recent trip to Prague. Once we arrived, we immediately regretted that decision and wished we'd planned to spend our last night here instead. It's a beautiful and charming town, larger than we expected, but still entirely walkable. There are several parking lots just outside the town where you can park (cheaply) and walk into the center. With a car, Cesky Krumlov can be a great day-trip or overnight visit from Prague, Linz, or Vienna.

This small village square in the heart of it all. Lovely cobblestone streets meandering through a very historic town in Czech Republic Full of surprises at every turn. Great food, art, music and ambience. A must see

Cesky Krumlov is a lovely and peaceful town. You will need one full day to explore this beautiful UNESCO world heritage. The architectures of the buildings are awesome and you will need to get a guide or read up to understand the history behind the architectures.

CK is narrow, cobbled streets and interesting buildings from the plain to the quaint to the ornate and decorated. It has a river running though that adds to its charm. It is, of course, full of tourists, but that a fact of life today. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants from which you can choose when you need a break from the cobblestones.

We did no shopping at all, so I cannot comment on the possibilities for souvenirs.

A delightful town that deserves more than just a day trip from Prague.

This city is such a great place to go. A kind of like Prague, but this hidden gem is much more fairytale-ish (saying this as a Prague citizen). If you are travelling for a few days to this part of Europe, this is definitely worth visiting for at least one full day (going from Prague for example the yellow buses are very good option). When already in the city centre, just forget about your map/GPS and start wondering around, these narrow mazy streets and winding river under the castle will very likely impress you and you will end up being lost in the maze. Since the centre is really walkable, it won’t take you more than a few minutes to find where you are (and just in case the castle on the hill is a great orientation point). Yeah, and take a night walk there as well!
