“A very special place”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

We are travelling quite a lot and are pretty bored of the stereotype hotels all over the world...
The Golden Angel (Hotel Zlaty Andel) is different. It’s a very special place with lots of different looking rooms right in the center of the beautiful medieval town of Krumlov. Even the furniture is unique and has been brought from France. Stunning to sleep in a bed formerly owned by Louis XV of France.
Kitchen and Bar a great too.

The staff was very nice and helpful, especially Adam Homolka. the hotel is perfectly located on the main square of Cesky Krumlov. We were in the older part of the hotel and room was typical of older European hotels, very pleasant, and fairly priced. I would recommend paying the relatively small increase to rent a larger room.

The medieval town was beautiful.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer section.

We stayed here for one night and it was wonderful. Fantastic service from staff who park your car, take your bags to your room, etc.

It's right in the middle of the main square so you couldn't ask for a better location.

Great, cheap breakfast too!

Along with my husband we visited the beautiful historic town Cesky Krumlov.
Walking through the town, we ended up on a terrace of a restaurant on the square. Later on we have found out that the terrace belongs to the hotel Zlaty andel. Since we have had not booked a hotel in advance we have decided to ask for accomodation in the hotel. We decided to go for standard room. After a very pleasant tour of the hotel and friendly check-in we accomodated in our fabulous room - rustic furniture and other equipment was very well combined with modern bathroom. To be honest I’m obsessed with cleanliness and here I have not found any imperfection. It looked like there has never been slept before. On the excellent mattress I slept like a princess.
In the morning we woke up to another sunny morning. We started the day with very rich breakfast – Prosecco, herring rolls and homemade pastry and cakes were included.
Unfortunately everthing nice runs too fast. The next day we had to leave and say goodbye to this lovely town Cesky Krumlov but I’m sure that we will come again. I also know that we will spend our next visit in the hotel Zlaty andel.

Room Tip: All rooms are different. The motto of the hotel is "Your extra touch hotel". That means yo...

This mid August we spent one night in this lovely hotel. It is centrally located at the main plaza of Cesky Krumlov. The service and people were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked breakfast, which was also quite good.

We can totally recommend this hotel and will likely stay there again during our next trip to lovely Cesky Krumlov.

After a long and hilly day on a bicycle it was a lovely hotel to stay in for the first night in the Czech Republic Single rooms are not easy to find and this was the second attempt. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming, We have Wi Fi sir, but I have no computer, there was no problem sitting in reception using their screen and keyboard. Next money, I had a few Czech notes from probably 20 years ago Euros and a credit card. After discarding a few old notes which were long past their sell by date, like me, I am proved solvent but not wealthy. The whole interactive experience was lovely, the hotel reception rooms and bedroom very clean and well maintained. Since the hotel is in the town centre it is near to all facilities ,amenities and local tourist sights. The breakfast appeared to be similar to most hotels of this category in Europe until I found the roll mop herrings.
As a farewell activity my route was planned for me as I departed to track round the villages and the local sights. As others have said the hotel is situated perfectly in the town square, but has the disadvantage of stairs to all floors,

Many thanks for the hospitality

During our four days stay I felt very welcome in this charming hotel at the squire in the middle of the town.
The kitchen prepared a more than fantastic wedding diner which was really very special.
The only disadvantage is that there is no elevator, so for elderly people it is less suted.
There is a varity of rooms which makes it special and the staff is kind and most of them speak either english or german.

Room Tip: If you cannot walk stairs, ask for a room on the groundfloor
