I simply adore Cesky Krumlov and the beautiful surroundings. I stayed at the Hotel Dvorak many years ago but on a recent trip back to the magical village I rediscovered the hotel. A charming, homey, well managed facility.

Room Tip: All rooms are about the same quality but the rooms facing the water were absolutely fabulous.

We were in a room on the top floor the elevator stops on the floor below. The room was huge the bathroom was modern and also very large. the location was first rate below the castle on the opposite of the river. Staff were friendly and helpful it also had a bar and café with a roadside balcony

Room Tip: if you don't want to carry your bags up a spiral staircase don't book the top floor

The Hotel Dvorak is located in the pedestrian area of Cesky Krumlov -- right across from the castle. The rooms were nice (though a little run down), but we were there in August and really needed air conditioning. (So if you are going in hot months, you might want to check around on air conditioning.) The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast superb! Also, the hotel is next to a bridge over the river, which has musicians playing most afternoons and evenings, so it was wonderful to be in the room with musical accompaniment.

The hotel is in a great location just by the wooden bridge and between the Castle and Town Square. Most of the rooms have wonderful views of the Castle towering above and the river below. We stayed in a Deluxe room which consisted of an enormous bedroom, a small dressing room and large bathroom and was very comfortable. There is a terrace beside the river where you can eat but the restaurant is rather dark as it is in the basement and the food was disappointing. However, a word of caution about taxis, do not use the taxi service recommended by the hotel as it cost us 50% more to travel to Cesky Budovice Airport than it cost us from the Airport to Cesky Krumlov. You would probably be better advised to get a taxi from the Town Square and agree an approximate rate beforehand.

We stayed at Hotel Dvorak with a family of four, two adults and two teenagers. Our room was 403. It is a terrific suite for families-two separate rooms, wonderfully appointed, spacious and with a great view! All that for 135€! The breakfast was very nice, though the coffee could have been better, the service was friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel highly. There is a large difference in price by booking over sky scanner as opposed to directly through the hotel.

Had three great nights at Hotel Dvorak in Cesky Krumlov. Knew I was on to a winner as soon as I entered where the staff immediately plunged into a 'where to go' on the CK map provided. She then spoke Italian which helped me polish up on mine as well from then on. Gave me some great help particularly regarding the walk up to Klet observatory.

The room was huge with high ceilings! Bit wasted on me as I am a solo traveller but definitely not complaining. The carpet was a funny colour initially (green) but grew on me after a while and sort of fit in with the colour scheme of the hotel. The view from the two windows was fantastic, of the Castle tower, particularly at night when it was all lit up.

Bed was comfortable and bathroom spacious though perhaps a little dated. Plenty toiletrie options including bath salts (though only got them once unfortunately).

TV was a little small but not really an issue for me. The impressive thing is they had Bloomberg as a channel!

All the other staff I encountered were super friendly.

Couple issues though:

1. No airconditioning: luckily it was not hot while I was there, but even with cooler days the room was quite stuffy sometimes so had to open the windows. This let some noise in and occasional insect.

2. No toaster at breakfast.

3. The view comes with a catch as you are right near the bridge to Latran. At night there are is some loud busking which would normally not be an issue but the buskers are terrible :-). One had a digeridoo, the other was playing techno (which I hate) while some bloke threw fire around. Windows could probably be soundproofed a bit better.

Not sure if the roomsz at the rear of hotel have a river view, if they do, this would probably be preferable due to being quieter also probably.
