This "hotel" is more of a pension. The amenities are very basic. When we arrived, the room was not clean. It was a bit disconcerting to see the mess left by the former occupants but we left for a few hours and returned later to a clean room. The room was fairly large and the bed was comfortable. Our main issue was that it was extremely noisy and we were unable to sleep ALL NIGHT!! We had to keep the windows open because there was no air conditioning and all night long, drunk, noisy people walked by singing and talking loudly. The hotel's central location means that it must be nearly impossible to avoid this if your room is on the front of the hotel. Also, the breakfast was terrible--practically inedible. I ended up just having some toast. I would look for a better option in Cesky Krumlov which is a town very worth visiting.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back where it may be quieter

I thought Cesky Kromlov would be an adorable, charming town and a great getaway outside of Prague. Instead, I found this a tourist trap and a deadly bore. All you'll find are shops, a castle and two puppet museums. The main square is small, and you might entertain yourself with a walking tour (via a tour book or via the tourist office). For me, it was a waste of time. The woman who runs the Konvice was cold and unfriendly -- quite different from other staffers at every other hotel I stayed at. Both upon my arriving and leaving, she was rude and efficient. Room are neat and clean, and the hotel is midway up/down the hotel. I wouldn't be likely to return, either to the town or to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building -- not the secondary building.

The hotel is in a great location as you only have to step outside and you are in the CK old town. It is a 15th century building so to get wireless Internet in our room was a bit of a bonus. Room 6 was one flight of stairs up but our bags were carried up and down the stairs for us. The room was large but the bed was effectively 2 beds pushed together and both were very low to the ground. Lovely view over the small outdoor terrace across to the castle. We had breakfast and dinner on the terrace and it was lovely and quiet in the evenings once the crowds had left for the day. Czech food can be very heavy so we were pleased to be able to order a whole trout with wild rice and sautéed monkfish with mixed vegetables.

This hotel is just steps from the town square, in the middle of Cesky Krumlov, across from the Hotel Ruze. We had Room #14 which is the ground floor suite. It is their most expensive room, but if you can afford it, it's a great room to be in. It iis just huge, with a big bedroom, sitting room, kitchen with a fridge and cook top, bathroom with shower and tub, and a spectacular view of the castle tower right out your bedroom window. The breakfast in the morning is your choice of eggs, and then a buffet of cold cuts, cheeses, large selection of breads and buns, cereal, fruit, and more....it is a good breakfast. You can walk every where from here, so the location is perfect.

Room Tip: Room 14 is a huge suite with a great view of the castle tower...in July it was $125 a night. It'...

Our room was like an apartment huge double room with balcony and separate 2nd small bedroom annexure with 2 singles. Huge bathroom fully appointed. The views of the castle were terrific. We had half board which gave a 3 course set dinner for 250 k each OK but probably would go a la carte next time as this would give chance to really try out the restaurants range
