“Only worth a quick peek”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

If you pass by this church while in Cesky Krumlov take a quick peek inside. Compared to other churches in Europe it is rather small, but it has nice stain glass windows and high arches. We really just stuck our heads in, took a quick look and left, as they do not allow photos and it is not a particularly impressive church. There really isn't much to see.

“Stunning interior”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

The altar is spectacular (and has an interesting story behind it) and the space itself is really majestic.

“Not a mention”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

As a practising Christian I enjoy visiting churches so much different from my own, but what disappoints me so often is that although I know what it is all about there are many who will enter a church in a place such as this out of simple curiosity and perhaps with little knowledge of Christian belief. What the uninformed make of these places I wonder at. Would it be too difficult to add some kind of information to enlighten the visitor a little more and perhaps lead them to seek further?
The exterior of the church with its almost cartoonlike steepness of roof and soaring spire is perhaps more interesting than the interior, though by the time of my visit I had seen so much baroque ornamentation that a church not completely drowned in cherubs and frescoes seemed somewhat bare.

“Beautiful ”

You can't take pictures, but the inside of the church is lovely! The stained glass windows are especially beautiful first thing in the morning when the early sun is shining through.

“Oppressive”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

As churches go, this is quite overbearing, dark and a bit morbid. This did not feel warm and welcoming. Much of it was roped off and unapproachable. The outsized, from a distance looks pretty. There are much nicer churches around.
