Pawlik Hotel
Ranked #3 of 27 Hotels in Frantiskovy Lazne
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We spent 4 nights at Pawlik and wished we could have stayed there longer to have a full benefit of the treatments. It is one the 4 four-star hotels in this place and we would still choose Pawlik over the rest because of the complex of swimming pools attached to the hotel. It was very convenient to able to walk there in the bathrobe without having to change at the pool.
We had only breakfast included to be able to enjoy a choice of restaurants in this small town. The breakfast buffet was very good, especially the choice of yogurts.

The greatest attraction of this hotel is the spa treatments – they are inexpensive and of the highest professional quality, but one has to stay there longer to enjoy the full benefit of the treatments that will then for a long time. We also loved the park that surrounded the hotel and little restaurants in this town. We found people extremely courteous and hospitable. It was a wonderful stay and we will definitely choose Pawlik again.

Room Tip: try getting a room closer to the swimming pool complex

We stayed unfortunatly only one night, at the beginning of august 2012, but we could not affort another one because it was way over our budget. We stayed in Pawlik 1 which I think is the most beautiful of the several old buildings interconnected. Huge comfortable room with a balcony with view of the big park in front of it. The hotel looks like a palace. Very elegant. Also breakfast was very good. The connection to the Aquaforum is great. We spent there several hours of relaxing. The hotel seems to be very popular to third age since it offers a lot of treatments, all inside. The staff seems to be a little bit too oldfashioned and too formal.

I have passed one week spa there. It is an old and charming 4-stars-hotel situated directly at the enormous part. I had a single-standard-room, totally clean and cosy. In the house, combined of some old houses, you find most parts of the spa. The rest is at hotel „Kaiserbad“, connected by a long, long tunnel. There is also a direct entrance to the „Aquaforum“, a big swimming pool with open air pools and funny chutes. The restaurant offers a very good food of high meet-quality. The staff is very friendly and the prices more than okay!
Every time I liked to return to this agreeable place.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms to the front-side. At the rare there is a parking with a very loud covering. This c...

I was staying in that spa hotel last October 2010. The price included room, full board and 18 spa procedures in one week. One can chose those procedures together with a doctor after the entry medical check because not all procedures are acceptable for all. All procedures are provided inside the hotel. The hotel complex includes a very nice Aquacentrum available for free for a hotel guests. The Emperor Spa, where many spa procedures are provided, is directly connected with a hotel complex as well through the tunnel under the road. It means one can go through all procedures using only bathrobe without leaving the complex. There is one big plus of this hotel..and that is the kitchen. Do not expect luxury, but the cuisine is JUST EXCELLENT. One can easily get some new kilos during his stay here. The hotel is close to a small park..and the city center is just behind this park. I have already bought another stay in that hotel.

Pawlik is what the Germans call a kurhotel -- a "cures" hotel. You spend your days following a physician-provided series of health-enhancing procedures such as mud baths, paraffin wraps, immersions in highly mineralised waters, and numerous massages. Two drawbacks (or complicating factors): 1. Only German and Czech are working languages. 2. This is a remote little corner of the western Czech Republic. But these are the only negative aspects. This is not just a hotel or even a nature preserve with a bit of history, although it is both. This is a well-managed and time-honed opportunity to step away from the continuously multi-tasking world of the 21st century and back into an era when 'summer' was a verb. Staying here was, for us, restorative.
