“Great little hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2009

Very friendly hotel, great service. Rooms are antique funished. All staff were very friendly. Large comfortable and clean room. They deserve the 4 star rating they have. English overall are good. But remember english is their second language so they may need extra explaining. Personal service as possibly the owner even loan us their Karlovy Vary cup to taste the hot springs. The restaurant's food was excellent and service was very good too. Often checking from our server and others working in the hotel. Breakfast was very good also. The only breakfast we had on this trip that the eggs was made to order. Too bad they don't have their own spa as the spa they have connection with almost ruined the experience. At the end all is well. The spa's service is good but not great.

I stayed here as part of my honeymoon. This certainly is a very nice hotel. Excellent position overlooking the river in probably the most idealic spot in town- a stones throw away from the major attractions. We were warmly greeted by reception staff. The room was excellent- large, spacious, clean and full of character. The hotel resturaunt was very nice, and very popular. Breakfast was excellent, served in front of an open fireplace. The only downside was that this was our honeymoon and there was nothing extra which I would have thought appropriate. This hotel was also certainly not cheap. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

read the glowing reviews in trip advisor and booked the hotel for an overnight side trip on the way to Prague. Lovely accomodations in a very special 19th century spa town.
the location is perfect overlooking a river and views of the opposite ornate buildings. The hotel did everything to make it memorable and very relaxing. Rooms are very comfortable, and attractive ,large marble baths, good beds, excellent linens, and a healthy breakfast buffet.
The most charming idea was that they have used one side of the bridge crossing the river into an outdoor restaurant. Every seat has a view and on a warm night it is always cool and on a cool night they have soft blankets to wrap around you.
A family run hotel that will arrange golf for you at reduced green fees at a 100 year old golf course and are very friendly and accomodating.

My family (my husband, I and two girls of 8 and 6 years old) had a short break in Karlovy Vary at the beginning of November 2007. It was our second stay at the Embassy Hotel and the main reason for our return was that the hotel, unlike other, bigger and plusher establishments in Karlovy Vary, offers a range of family rooms. I tried to book first Savoy Western and then Carlsbad Plaza(which is around the corner from the Embassy) and at both they were unable to offer us interconnecting rooms(either, perphaps, a bit of a bad luck, or the booking was (almost) last-minute one).
This time, we had a fourth-floor apartment, newly refurbished, with brand-new furniture and very comfortable beds. It consists of two double bedrooms, each en-suite(new batrooms again), both with flat-screen TV sets, all this at very reasonable, in my opinion, 130 Euro per night B&B for 4 of us.
A big plus was apartment's location at the back of the building - the first stay in May 2007 was marred a little by noise from early-morning delivery vans; this time it was a guaranteed sound sleep every night.
The restaurant on the ground floor seems to be very popular, we had a dinner there on our second night. It offers slightly internationalised typical Central European fare of suckling pig, sauercraut, knedlik, etc. Good food, (if a bit stodgy), homely cooked, but certainly, not fast enough for children, so we just had some pizza/pasta meals(and pretty good they were, too) at the Capri Pizzeria opposite the hotel.
Staff at the reception and restaurant are efficient and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble(and thank you very much again, the valiant young male receptionist, for rescuing our passports from the jammed room safe at the eleventh hour!).
Perphaps, the only criticism that could be addressed at the Embassy is the monotonous and samey breakfast, which seemed to be absolutely identical day after day - eggs, two kinds of sausage, tinned fruit salad, some cereals.
Embassy, unlike a majority of hotels in KV, doesn't have any spa and health facilities, but there are many places that offer day courses of treatments(i.e. neighbouring Dvorak).
I would recommend Zamecke Lazne(Castle Spa) to families with children, as they run Family Wellness programm which includes 2 hours of use of the thermal pool - lots of powerful jets - + 2 health procedures(some oxygen inhalation + steam chamber), which were, amittedly, waisted on the girls, as all they wanted was to have a swim.
Overall, our stay in the hotel and town itself was very pleasant, thermal water from the springs does miracles to one's gastric ailments and we'll, hopefully, be back, may be, for longer, soon.

This place was extremely charming, clean, well located and had a very accommodating staff. The breakfast that was included had a great variety, and the restaurant for dinner was a fine experience, as well. If you eat dinner there, be sure to try the liqueur that's made in Karlovy Vary called Becherovka. They even gave us each an extra one on the house. The only negative for us was that they were unresponsive on their web site when we tried to contact them to make a reservation, so we had to end up calling. Be sure to ask for a room that overlooks the river for a beautiful view.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Embassy Hotel.
The young lady at the Front Desk, was personable and graciously answered all our questions. She even booked a massage for us, just a few blocks away - and it was excellent.
Our room was spacious, bright and clean. The large windows
opened out over the river and street scene. The bathtub was big
enough for a spa-like soak after a brisk day of walking.
It was very cozy by the fire in the breakfast room and the lounge
was perfect for a night-cap. The service and food in the
restaurant were superb. ( You must have the soup for lunch!)
Everyone at the hotel/restaurant went out of their way to make us
feel right at home, and they were sincerely interested that we
enjoy our Karlovy Vary and Czech Republic experience.
Thank-you ... we did!

A pleasant hotel. Rooms are adequate but nothing special for a spa town - although the room rates are less than those of more opulent hotels. Hotel has no spa facilities on site; but there is one close by and the hotel staff was able to book spa time for us. The hotel has a bar and restaurant - good food and fine wine. Secured and free parking behind the hotel. Front desk also helped us book an English tour at the Moser glass factory, as well as how to use the local bus lines to get there. Pricing in general for the whole town seems a bit inflated but that comes with staying in a resort town.
