It is a good 4-star hotel. Nice building and lobby, comfortable room., pleasant spa for 8 euro a day. We were pleased.

Elegant hotel in great location in a fantastically beautiful city.

On checking in we were told that we had the smallest room but could upgrade for 40 euros a night, oh and by the way it is 12 euros a day to park your car and 8 euros a day each to use the hotel pool.

The pool is described as spacious on the website which has to be a joke. The Spa description in the Hotel name seems a little pretentious as we saw very little activity in this area.

Some of the staff were fine and did what they could to help but most were miserable and disinterested.

Incidentally we went on to Frantiscovy Vary (equally beautiful city) and stayed in a much less expensive hotel that was infinitely more friendly and helpful but equally elegant.

This is a gorgeous hotel renovated within the last year or so. Rooms are big, bright, airy and beautifully decorated and the breakfast is very good. The staff needs a bit of training up and the centralized computer reservation system could use a bit of work, but the spa, room and ambiance more than made up for several faux pas.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Humboldt Park at the end of January. The walk from the train/bus station was only about ten minutes. We took a bus from Pilsen and walked along the river to the hotel. The service was very friendly, and the bellman was always helpful and cheerful. Like the other reviewers, staff speak good English (my girlfriend mostly spoke Czech with them though). The room was large (a balcony double room), tastefully decorated and appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was very satisfying and generous, and they made eggs to order. We used the pool and sauna as well, and were pleased with the cleanliness and quality.

The location is great because it's in a relatively quiet location, just a five minute or less walk from the springs and main shopping. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, great service. Everyone spoke english or would try until they helped you. Taxi from bus station was about $15 US and the train station is also a very close taxi ride (BTW trains are a great way to transport, ignore the recommendations not to take the train.) Food in Hotel was great - included buffet breakfast very nice, you can order eggs etc. We even had dinner and it was wonderful. Spa is not so special, but upscale steam bath, spa, pool, and sauna. Messages etc. can be arranged. Room was very nice, we did ask to be moved to a room with a bathtub (which was huge) because the first was a shower. Also extended the day by one night and they charged us the same as on Expedia instead of trying to get more money. Very nice. Also internet in the lobby. Highly recommended.

We have just come back from our trip to the Czech Republic and I feel compelled to write this after our upsetting experience.
We were so looking forward to staying at what looked a beautiful hotel. Admittedly, it is VERY beautiful hotel in quite a stunning area. HOWEVER, the service is so rude and offensive we were shocked by it. We understand that a lot of staff did not speak English, but for those who did, they would aggressively repsonded to us by saying "WHAT" when we asked for some service, which initially we thought they just don't understand us and then by the end we just thought it was plain rude. Our room was supposedly a "SUITE" but we had no amenities to which you would expect as 'normal' - tissues, extra roll of toilet paper, bath mat, tea & coffee making, glasses in bathroom. We had to run all over the hotel to find an extra toilet roll!! The final insult was when we were charged for destroying 3x face cloths. They could only provided one as evidence, which appeared to have a coffee stain on it (I don't know how as there was no coffee in the room!). They became so rude and offensive we reluctantly paid for them.
Just a warning Karlovy Vary is a beautiful spot, so do not spoil it with a disappointing experience. Take care....

This is a fabulous hotel, located overlooking the river in the heart of Karlova Vary. It has been renovated in a very sophisticated fashion, the furnishings are beautiful. We checked in early and our room wasn't ready so they advised us to go to the spa and pool area to relax. The pool overlooks the city on the 6th floor. The whirlpool next to it seats 6 people. We relaxed up there and had the place to ourselves. We had our 12 year old son with us, so for $50 more we upgraded to a suite, which was a split level room with a double bed downstairs and a large bedroom upstairs, again with beautiful views. The breakfast which is included in the price was excellent, a full breakfast where you could order eggs cooked any style. The staff was friendly and spoke quite good English. The only downside was that the air conditioning in our room did not work so it was hot in the afternoons, other than that we would definitely stay here again. Good value, centrally located, great breakfast and relaxing spa.
