A very good hotel. They have been attentive to all the things we asked before our arrive. A spacefull room, with a big bath and bed. Just in the heart of Kutna Hora, a wonderful city away from the many tourists of Prague. Very recomended! With good prices and a very good breakfeast.

The location couldn't be better as it's right on the main town square. Don't, however, let that put you off for fear of noise because Kutna Hora is a quiet little town. Every single employee we encountered was extremely friendly - day and night. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable with everything we needed. It is an older hotel and some things do show their age but nothing was broken or shabby or poorly maintained. If you are used to massive flat panel televisions then you will think the cube shaped television in the corner of the room is rather cute. We never turned it on, that's not why we were there. You will have a mini fridge (bigger than the TV) in your room and free WiFi and an excellent breakfast available plus a bar at night to help soothe your sore feet from the inside. I can't think of anything at all negative to say. We even extended our stay we were so comfortable.

I stayed in Medinek many times over the past 9 years. The service, rooms, and food were excellent.
However, 5 years ago because of of change of ownership, the previous manager lost his position. The last time I stayed there things had changed. There was no longer a large breakfast buffet, which meant that you did not have to eat lunch. Now there is a small menu with limited food for breakfast. There used to be a daily menu for lunch that attracted many locals, no more. The food produced by the kitchen is of low quality. The rooms and maid service are still good. In the past in the afternoon many people were on the terrace in front of the hotel. Now the terrace is empty. No longer are computers available for the guests. It used to be the top hotel in Kutna Hora, it is not so now. A better and cheaper choice would be Kreta.

Room Tip: If you are there on weekends get a room in the back, not on the square. Early Saturday and Sunday morning 3-5 AM there are many loud drunks in the square.

Worth a visit, but only for a one night stay. Hotel was not brill, but the reception staff were very helpful! We ended up back at 22:00 and asked the chap on reception where we could go at this time. His reply was..... "bed"!!! Hahahahaha! The food in the restaurant wasn't brill at all. The breakfast was not good.

You will hardly see worse hotel in Kutna Hora, then hotel Medinek. What I understood from local people, that this hotel is some sort of a legend in town, even our president was there once. I saw his picture above the reception. Good thing is, that the hotel is open 24/7 - which is truly unique experience in Kutna Hora. Lobby is stuck in year 1950. Awful. On reception guy almost sleeping. Smells like dog, and he gave me key from my "room" - which was one bed, chair, table and miniTV. Minibar was whole empty, bathroom disgusting. I apreciated the city view (on square), but that's all. Meal ? Awful, and small choice of food. Do not go there unless you want to have your weekend ruined.
