Zlata Stoupa (gold crusher?) scores with great location just few meters next to the main square and no more than 10 minutes to walk from St. Barbara church. Next good point is guarded parking lot. Rooms are clean, great in size (no 28), bit vintage in equipment - especially TV set. Bathroom was also good, with bathtube and in blue color. Breakfast acceptable, did not suprise. There is no hotel bar, what is annoying after a long business meeting. However the minibar was very well equiped and reasonably priced - Pilsner beer for 1,5€. Owerall good hotel in a great city. Worth every penny.

Room Tip: happy with the very top one 28 due to its size and bathtube

The hotel itself is good with location at the bottom of the hill so to go to the very center you need to go up a bit. There is a parking next to hotel also guarded over night. Minibar in my room was noisy which I didn't like. Decor is in "old times" style. Bed was too soft for me. Wi-fi Internet has very weak signal(ground floor room) get yourself cable from the reception then it works fine.

The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel very clean (maybe slightly dusty high up in the bedrooms, but the ceilings were 12 feet high). My room (number 9) was very large and the price very good. The hotel is also situated close to the town centre, so no complaints about the location.

It would have been helpful to have details of what stop to get off when travelling from the rail station, as the station is too far for most people to walk with bags. The breakfast was simple, but adequate (although the fried eggs were quite hard and crispy around the edge). I saw the bar open early in the evening, but it closed really early in the evening and I never got a chance to use it. I tried to get some ironing done and was given an iron. I asked for an ironing board and was given a tiny ironing board with one leg missing and was told to lay it on the bed (which took me ages to iron just one shirt).

All together it was an excellent base, although hotel facilities were limited, but because it was such good value, I have kept the score high – you rarely get rooms so clean and nice for this money, so it was very good value.

Room Tip: Room 9 was massive with a double and single bed plus dining table and chairs!

General:
Stayed here on business last night. Hotel has lots of potential, great building and very friendly staff. There is a car park, unusual for such central location.

Room:
We stayed in the apartments annexe as the hotel was full to brimming. The rooms were dusty, rather than dirty, and the practice of laying towels and a small bar of soap on each bed is just so memorable of bed-and-breakfasts it gave a negative impression straight away.

Hot water? NO!
No hot water the next morning, had to shower and shave in cold water - yuck! Receptionist was friendly and polite about and regretted the incident, blaming it on the fact the hotel was full and the other guests must have stolen my hot water :-(

Breakfast:
Adequate, but the only warm food was eggs and tiny sausage.

Internet:
Had some difficulty obtaining network key to connect to their WiFi and, even when we had it, we could not connect.

Location:
Central to the beautiful town of Kutna Hora. Beware the roads are cobbled, the pavements are often non-existent, and there's quite a bit of noise from passing traffic, including the road sweeper at 6am! The windows are double glazed, so might be OK in the colder months. (There's no air-con, by the way).

Overall:
Friendly and adequate, but dusty and musty. The lack of hot water, and no Internet connectivity means I shall not stay here again.
