I visited Plzen a couple times and used to stay in 3 Stars Hotel, and Hotel Plzen is by far the best place to stay. They have a Great Price for Value Ratio if you stay with 2 or more People. The Parking Lot is secured by cameras and an Electronic Door. The City Center is in Walking distance. The Rooms are clean and nice. The Breakfast is very decent. And if you dont want to go for Dinner the Restaurant downstairs serves good food too.

Room Tip: In the Rooms in the Top Floor right under the roof, in summertime it may getting hot there.

We spent weekend in this hotel. Hotel was clean and nice. Also we were pleasantly surprised of access staff (at the reception and in the restaurant) - the staff was friendly, helpful and polite, even though their work is often really challenging. In one day we had a romantic dinner there for two people. It was great experience (we went away a bit of replete because the food was wonderful). We had a really relaxing weekend there.

Room Tip: Do not afraid to ask staff for reservation a room which you choose on the web site of this hotel.

Nothing special, a nice room for three with a great bathroom. The staff was nice, willing to answer our questions and help us find places to eat. You get a free welcome drink at their bar. The wifi was good, the only negative is the location is close to a few bars, so it can get noisy when people are outside.

We have spent a splendid weekend in room 14 with our son and dog. The room was clean and quiet. In fact, it was two rooms, that suited us very well. The bathroom was spacious and neat. We travell very often and as far as we can compare, the quality of the accomodation is above 3 stars standard, as well as rich buffet breakfast. And finally, what was surprisingly extremely good above standard, was the food in the hotel restaurant. The food was very delicious and servings were splendid. Chef himself bakes various cakes and they are excellent!! Don't miss his tiramisu!

This hotel is in what looks like a terrible part of Plzen, and a 15-minute walk away from the centre. The front entrance is very shabby with a broken 'Restaurant' sign above it. The carpets are still dirty and very old (see review below from 2005 - it doesn't look like anything's changed since then). The back of the hotel overlooks very old flats and a dodgy car park.
The hotel looks nothing like what you can see in the 'official' photos. I stayed in one of the blue rooms. The two single beds were very narrow and hard. I'm slim, but couldn't even turn on this bed without almost falling off it! I was woken up at 7am by builders working in the car park. There were lots of little bits and bobs around the room (shells, stones, etc), making it look and feel rather messy. The white neon lights above the bed gave me a migraine. The shower was mouldy and smelly.
Avoid this hotel especially if you're a female solo traveller. There are better hotels in Plzen (I reviewed one a few years ago).

Dear Guest,

we are thankful for all guests opinions, but I would like to respond to your review.

We increased the quality of our services and renovated the building partially. The carpets are not dirty and there is no mold in the bathroom. And in our official photos is exactly the same what you can find here.

Our goal is guest satisfaction and we want to offer the best value for money. We are also planning a big renovation right now. I hope one day it could be a nice surprise for you.

Yours sincerely,

Pavla Chavíková

In spite of a terrible entrance, this is actually a nice hotel. The rooms are fairly large and in excellent condition. They are quite clean, and the bathrooms are spotless. The staff is most accommodating.

There are a couple of problems, however. First, the first impression upon entering the hotel is bad. You are confronted with a shabby carpet on a short flight of stairs. Then there is no elevator. Finally, there is some street noise which may be irritating.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel. It has a great location, just a few steps from the tourist area of Plzen (insofar as Plzen has a tourist area).

By the way, when in Plzen, do not miss the brewery tour, and consider the Patton and ethnographic museums as well.
