You get all the bells and whistles at the Astory Hotel in Plzen -- and for those of you who are interested (and who isn't?) you're right next door to the amazing Pilner Urquell brewery. We couldn't have been happier with our hotel choice. We had a two-room suite, which was nice in that our daughter got to sleep in the sitting area and close the door on her snoring dad. The bathroom is large and luxurious -- great to have a nice soak in a tub after fighting with our share of stubborn European showers. Breakfast was huge -- certainly one of the top 3 we enjoyed during our month in Europe. Service, also, was great -- helpful accommodating -- let us check out as late as 2 PM because we were going to the noon brewery tour. In terms of location, though not in the middle of the city, you're a short walk on a pedestrian pathway from restaurants and central attractions. Also, the closest hotel to the train station, as well.

Astory is a fabulous small hotel with a fabulous location. It is nestled in a row of buildings. A glass stairway anchors the lobby!

The hotel is across the street from the famous Pilsen Brewery. The walkway overpass was closed, but a short walk took us right to the brewery.

The hotel rooms are spacious and brand new. Very modern furniture. The bathroom is also fabulous. The latest in modern fixtures. I felt as if I was in a Kohler showroom.

You can get 799 TV channels if you want to fall asleep with the TV on; however, if you want to view something American, Jay Leno is the only feed.

The breakfast was again fabulous.

By accident, I had to stay over the night in Plzen. I had a quick look for a hotel and decided to go for the Astory Hotel. The experience was extremely good. It started with the welcome. Professional staff and nice lobby (modern looks). Rooms are compeletely new and very trendy. Huge bath room, completely new (with design washing tables, toilets, ...) and also the room itself is extremely nice. All necessary things there: mini bar, safe, nice queen beds, satellite television, etc etc... Never thought it could be that good. Also free wireless internet available !!

Moreover, the hotel is very conveniently located nearby the station and about 5-10 minutes walking from the historical city centre.

Also one other thing about the hotel : take dinner in the restaurant. Extremely friendly prices for very nice dishes. Nice portions, nice looking and also very good tasting with an eye for details. Extremely recommended !!

Maybe only minor detail is the breakfast. Maybe a bit bigger choice ... but okay, I guess this might be different during week days..

If you plan a visit to Plzen, try this hotel . Also the price for the rooms is not overrated and weekend rates are about 30 % off.
