“The Most Random Place I Have EVER Stayed!!!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2013

Me and a friend were back packing around Europe and were staying in Prague for 2 nights! We booked the Emma hostel on hostelworld and it was very cheap. It is quite a long way from the train station so be aware if your carrying a large bag! It's in a superb location for the sights tho! 2 mins for the river, 5 mins from town and 10 mins to the Old Town. When we arrived the guy behind reception didn't have much English. He told us we were staying next door to the hostel at which point me and my friend gave each other a confused look!!

He led us to some large wooden doors outside, gave us our keys and let us find out our room! When we opened the door we were greeted with a building site! The building was under renovation. We were on the second floor and discovered there was no lighting in the stairways! Was very interesting in the dark!

When we arrived at our 'room' it was a converted apartment. There was a small kitchen , living area and communal bathroom and showers. We were in a very tiny room! There was a single bed, double bed and a makeshift wardrobe. The furniture was very basic but the bed was comfy! No curtains though which was random! When we arrived we saw no other people, but later on a group arrived and partied all the way through the night so didn't get much sleep!

This is a place where you have to be very open minded. It didn't matter to me and my friend that it very basic....we just wanted a place to sleep and grab a hot shower, in which we succeeded in both! This is not the place for you if you don't do basic, don't like noise and limit yourself to certain accommodation!!!

Me and my friend just giggled through it all and I'll probably never experience a place like it ever again in my life!!!

Room Tip: You won't know what you'll get or what building you'll be in till you get there!!!!!!!!

My 3 friends and i (19 year old girls) stayed in a room in the basement with 1 Czech woman. Woke up after the first night and my phone had been stolen from under my pillow whilst I was asleep as she had unlocked the door in the night and a man (not a guest of the hostel) had walked past reception and down in to our room and also stolen from other rooms. A clear set up so watch out. Very frightening and incredibly dodgy. Staff were unhelpful. Plugs in rooms seemed unsafe and the whole place damp and claustrophobic. Worst hostel I've ever stayed in.

Room Tip: DON'T STAY HERE - try miss sophies or ANY other hostel! If you have to stay here ask not to be i...

I liked this hostel firstly because of the price. I am a student and the first thing I'm looking for is the way to save some money. Therefore I made up my mind on this cheap and quite attractive place.
And to tell the truth, it proved to be a bargain! The hostel is situated close to Karlovo namesti subway station, so it is very close to the center. Couple of minutes walking will bring the traveler to the Vltava embankment. You can walk from there either to Karluv most or to Vaclavske namesti with museum.
The hostel itself is quite clean and pleasant. It has several rooms for men and women separately and couple of mixed rooms, showers and a kitchen in the basement (which I didn't like very much, not that clean and accurate). There are lockers and toilette tables. I lacked some kind of wardrobe and night tables as well. Among the drawbacks I would mention the additional charge for towels. But still reasonable price and advantageous location make this hostel a place to stay for youngsters.

Really good hostel for reasonable price. The rooms are only suitable for sleep (so spend all of your time in the city). At weekend the commom places are full with guest. Kitchen and bathroom are under average, but it depends on your needs. The hostel near to the dancing house and 5-10 minutes walk from city center. The big shoops are so close also. The WIFI is quite good. The service is so kind, and helpfull.

Room Tip: cheaper room is not so equipped... Book in advance and check the photoes.

I was at this hostel with two other friends, we all loved it! The price is great and the hotel is well located, 15 minute walk from old town, so you can pretty much walk from the hotel to all the interesting places in Prague, the guys from the front desk were really helpfull for everything, We had to check out a 10:30am but our flight was at 21:30 so we had almost all day to make some othe tour in the city, that was not a problem at all, they have a room for luggage and you can leave it there without any charge, so that really worked for us! I would defenitely go back! Thanks guys!

Location is great. 5 minutes to Charles bridge with plenty of restaurants and bars (and internet cafes) nearby. Internet wifi connection is free and fast. Computers are available 24/7. If you travel by car, parking sucks. There's a garage but it costs about 22 euros for a day (24 hours, if you pay with crowns it is cheaper). Rooms are kind of small and a little dark with not many outlets, beds are squeaky. If you get a room in the basement next to the loungs, you will not sleep bc people are loud downstairs. For the cost, it's okay. You get what you pay for.
