Hostel Downtown is not only a place to sleep. With it's really friendly staff and all the great activities that are offered to the guests for free, you can spend a great time there and meet many people from all over the world.
It is very well located, confortable and clean.
The american breakfast costs € 3,50 and it is delicious.
Wifi and computers can be used for free.

Examples of the free activities are guided tours, cooking lessons (food is given by the hostel), and Czech lessons.

I want to stay in Prague just to be at this hostel -- it is perfect!! I was only here for one night (2 days in Prague), but I went on Mirek's ghost tour (highly highly recommended) and Giuliana's daytime tour. They were both fantastic!! Very friendly, down-to-earth people, they are not like the normal tour guides which just beg for tips...it is completely free (even though you will want to tip them because they give such awesome tours!). There are events every day, for instance every other night there is a _free_ cooking class (which I very sadly have missed), and today there is even a Czech language learning session over afternoon tea. How awesome is that?? I seriously will come back to Prague just to be at this hostel. It is the best. Go on the tours!!! And don't miss the Ghost Tour, even if you think it sounds "cheesy"--it was the best city tour I've ever done. (Oh and the 3,5eur breakfast buffet is well worth it, home-cooked delicious food)

Room Tip: I stayed in a larger room (I think it was 10 bed?) but it was divided into two parts, so it is not l...

I had no idea what to expect, but here they take very good care of you. We come in and they tell us everything we can do for free. That includes tours and information and all sorts of service 24/7. We went on the free walking tour the first day. The tour guide was this Brazilian guy named Gil. He wasn't some professional tour guide told what to say. He was just a normal person who knew the city and knew people. It was very genuine and I learned a lot about the city. After that, we knew the main parts of the city. The hostel is in the *perfect* part of the city. Everything is directly north or south of the hostel, including the Prague Castle, Visherod, Charles Bridge, the Spanish Synagogue, etc. Perfect location, perfect staff, perfect tour, perfect services, perfect rooms. I thought I paid for a hostel but I guess I got an amazing tour suite! :)

The hostel was perfect! I found it a little confusing to get in at first as you have to ring a bell, but staff were very friendly, came downstairs and carried my bags up the stairs. They were so gracious explaining everything about the hostel and Prague. Breakfast was worth the extra pay, but if you don't want to have breakfast at the hostel, there are many restaurants nearby. It is located a very short walk to the metro lines and the centre of the Old Town.

I was in an 8 person Female Down with a toilet and shower in the room with a view of the Old Town and Prague Castle. Many people went out partying, but I didn't hear any noise except for that of the girls coming back to my room. If I ever go back to Prague, I will definitely stay here again!!

First of all the hostel is in a great location. When you get in, the reception staff are really friendly and incredibly helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy, I stayed in a triple private which had our own en suite - it was massive! They have free wifi, a great kitchen/dining area for anyone to use, they offer free cooking classes in the evening, free walking tours and will even keep your luggage after you've checked out!! A great vibe and a great stay - I wouldn't hesitate visiting such a beautiful city in a great place again. Personal shout out to Mirek - a great walking tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and a good taste in beer too!!
