“Good beer”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2013 via mobile

Great beer, very busy bar/restaurant. More of a pub rather than restaurant. It's clean and the staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the buffalo wings.

“Best food we had in prague”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

Great food at a reasonable price. Even if you don't do the brewery tour it's worth a trip for great beer, the beer mojito was fabulous and far too easy to drink, and really good food.

“Arrive hungry”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

The portions are substantial and the prices are low. The first time we went there, we had the rib and chicken wing appetizers, with some potatoes. Fortunately, we did not order mains, as the appetisers were huge.

The Staropramen beers are light, tasty and it is possible to drink them in surprising quantity. I liked the lager, while my wife preferred the "11".

Two things about non-smoking sections in Prague beer halls:

1) They are small and you must reserve them as far in advance as possible.

2) I have yet to encounter any Czechs in them. They are filled with Americans and the occasional Brit. Staropramen has excellent ventilation, so if you can handle a little smoke, sit in the regular area. We did and got into some great, fun conversations.

“Glad we were here our first night in Praquw”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

Our first night in Prague and glad we came here. Easy, relatively inexpensive and the food was quite good with some nice wine by the glass choices. I had chicken caesar (excellent cheese and plentiful) and my husband had chicken risotta - which was also quite good.

The street is not that great and the ambience just ok. But the hostess and wait staff went out of their way to be friendly and accomodating.

“Food fine but service not great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

Modern restaurant pleasant surroundings with a no smoking area - a little difficult to find although we were in a hotel quite close. My husband ordered garlic soup as starter and both ordered main courses. Drinks came - beer fine white wine warm - waitress suggested she could put ice in it for me if I didn't like it warm! A practical suggestion in the circumstances!
Were just about to ask if the food was on its way as we were on our second drink when waitress appeared with the main courses. On enquiring about the soup - the waitress told us that we hadn't ordered any! On being told that we actually had she argued with us then said if we wanted to order one now that wouldn't be a problem. We did point out that she had already brought our mains - shrug shrug. We didn't order the soup! For Prague the mains were actually fine- chicken in sauce with vine tomatoes and lamb shank with spinach - warm rather than hot but tasty and sides were included in price. Was one of the better meals we had in Prague - pub food equivalent.
Bill was ok - service needs improved though.
