“Great location, decent breakfast - below par rooms”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

The reason I selected this hotel was location, bang in front of the railway station (We were arriving from Munich and moving next to Amsterdam) to that end it worked great.

The rooms though were depressing, extremely small, odd shaped and the double bed couldn't be called double bed by any standard....and they weren't charging budget hotel rooms. Infact they advertise themselves as a 3 star hotel in reality it's a B&B.

Overall the place was clean and well maintained, the service standards were averagish, one of the days we came back to discover only half the room had been done up..no complimentary water though a paid bottle was kept

Coming pack to the pros it's walking distance from pretty much everywhere in the old town and well connected with trams, a key feature in a town where the taxi drivers are out there to cheat you. And the breakfast spread was decent, they also have a ok looking bar though didn't really see too many patrons..

I got an excellent price for this hotel (about half the price of the competition) and I was afraid that consequently the place would be sketchy, but it's definitely not. It's clean and comfortable and in a convenient location for train travelers. It's a 5 minute walk to Wenceslas Square and a 10-15 minute walk into Old Town. The breakfast is good but basic--there's not a lot of variety, but it will do the job. The one caveat about the hotel is that for handicapped people, you have to go down 6-7 stairs to get to the breakfast area; there's a sign posted saying the staff will assist you if you need help, but be aware that that's the situation. To put the whole hotel in perspective, I'd say it's a lot like a Holiday Inn. It won't wow you but it does what it needs to do and for a good price.

Se voce chegar a praga de trem, terá o hotel em frente a estação hlavni nadrazi. Isso ajuda muito com as malas. (If you get the prague by train, will the hotel in front of the hlavni nadrazi station. It really helps with the bags). O Quartos são bons e o café da manha é otimo. ( The rooms are good and the breakfast is great.) Seja cuidadoso com o lado da praça que fica em frente a estação, não é bem frequentada a noite. (Be careful with the side of the square in front of the station, is not well-attended night).

Room Tip: Prefira em frente a estação de trem.

Location, location -- and cleanliness. The rooms are just fine. The hotel is steps away from Prague's central train station, separated from the terminal by a broad parkway that insulates the property from the marginal (though apparently harmless) types that sometimes linger there. Though not immediately within the touristic core, it's no more than a 10-minute walk from it -- and it's actually refreshing to be in an area that's lived in by ordinary people rather than in the crowded theme park that Old Prague can be. Working-class restaurants are nearby; a restored jewel of a synagogue (rarely open) is just down the street. Breakfast is adequate. Is the hotel a honeymoon destination? Only for those to can provide their own magic. But for travelers exploring the region by train and who require mainly convenience, value and clean accommodation, the Chopin provides all three.

My girlfriend took me on a surprise 3 night city trip to Prague and booked this hotel up front. After a pleasant first contact with the reception I was pleased with the location and how clean the hotel was.

Only thing we noticed was the small bed (1,40m), we asked reception if it would be possible to switch to a room with a larger bed but it appears the entire hotel has this size, so I guess we're just spoiled with our king size @home.

Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff, clean and great location, can't go wrong with this!

Tip: take the airport express shuttle, it stops @ central train station which is at the other side of the small park in front of the hotel.

If you are coming by Train then this is a great location. The rooms were big, clean, updated and cozy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only complaint I have was the breakfast. The breakfast was limited and there was not a lot of tables so sometimes it can be hard to find anywhere to sit as the tables fill up fast. You can buy transportation tickets from the hotel and you can book a taxi to the airport with them with a very good and honest taxi company they have a contract with for 690 CZK. WIFi worked great. I would stay here again but maybe skip the breakfast.
