A friend and I were staying at in town hostel but it was terrible, a friend told us about Prague square hostel. We stayed there for our last night in Prague and it was brilliant. Full of friendly people, great kitchen and shower facilities and customer survive was excellent, especially from Patrick who made out stay even better.

Not only is the hostel the best priced centrally located hostel in Prague, it pretty much has the best staff of any hostel I've ever been. They are not paid to be our travel guides, ticket bookers, translators, money exchangers, embassy locators, computer program finders, or food police. However, Patrick, Alonzo, and Charlane did ALL of these things and they were more than happy to do it. My friends and I had a lot of things to do while we here, not only visit the sites, and we couldn't have finished them without this awesome staff! Patrick, spent a lot of time returning tickets online while translating from Czech to English along with answering every annoying question we had as soon as we arrived. Trust me... we had a lot. Alonzo literally walked my friend to the embassy to make sure she found it and advised her with his personal contacts about visa questions. Charlane found the perfect late night computer place thus saving my grant. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. I can't express how grateful I am that they didn't make us feel like the neediest people in Prague (even though I'm sure we were), and they made us feel at home and that it was no problem for them to help us. You can't find this kind of service just anywhere.

As for the hostel itself, it's pretty great. I stayed here with a friend and her mom in a 8 bed room. It's fantastically located next to the square, walking distance to everything, they provide free earplugs if you need them, the beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, the breakfast was tasty, and hostel was very clean. I would definitely recommend this place!

This hostel was centrally located and walking distance from the train station or metro. Breakfast is basic cereals and juice but you also get a sandwich, which is useful for lunch. Bed was pretty uncomfortable but rooms were clean and met great people! Helpful staff and great social areas. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for my Hen do with 6 other girls. Was very happy with the room. It was basic as to be expected but clean and warm when the temperature outside was -10. We booked a room for 8 and were given 4 bunk beds, with 8 large lockers. Check in was quick and easy and the guy at reception was very helpful, providing a map and pointing out the best nightlife locations and a bar crawl that could be booked there. The different floor levels were separated into male or female showers. As we was on the floor with the male showers we had to go downstairs to go to the shower. This didnt pose any problems. There was 3/4 showers in the bathroom and several sinks. Every time me or one the girls needed a shower there was always one available and they were always very clean. The location is perfect, a stones throw away from the old town square, walking distance from nightlife, restaurants and saint Charles bridge. As the old town square was round the corner we went on a free walking tour leaving from the clock and returning there over an hr or 2 later. If it was too far from our accommodation we may have questioned going on the tour, but it wasn't and turned out to be very worthwhile & shame to be missed. Some of my group was initially dubious a bout staying at a hostel questioning how warm and clean it would be. However all said that they were pleasantly surprised and would stay in similar accommodation again. So if you are questioning such a stay, I say go for it if you want affordable basic, well located but clean.

I wish i could say how great this place was but unfortunately the lack of sleep for me is more than enough to bag this place.
There were no fans provided and in 35 degree heat you would expect something!!! It was too hot and too noisy to get any decent sleep. There is a nightclub right outside so until 5am all we got was loud music and very loud people right outside our window.
Dont stay here unless you are planning on staying out until 5am each night.

The hostel is in an ideal location, right in the middle of where everything's happening and a short walk from all the main attractions. The hostel is equipped with a kitchen which is a real plus as we managed to save a lot of money by cooking our own dinner and breakfast and a sandwhich is included. When you arrive they make you pay in the local currency and we noticed that they use an exchange rate of 27 Crowns to the euro which was higher than what the current exchange rate was. After pointing this out to the very friendly and helpful receptionist she was happy to use the current exchange rate instead so that's just something you should watch out for. All in all it was great and I would definitely recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff (especially emma!) they will advise you on places to go and can show you places on the map. They also have lots of discount cards! E.g for the pub crawl, biggest club in europe, ice bar, tours etc
Very clean
Good atmosphere
Perfect location!
Meet lots of other backpackers easily!
Free breakfast and a sandwich
Only advise is to print off a map before you go! We found it slightly difficult to find!
Would definitely return here (:
