My friend and I went to Gloria Hotel in Prague during April 2012. We stayied there for three days (three nights) and we were so happy! The location was great and so the staff, the prices were honest and all the receptionits were very kind to us and helped us to learn more about the city. In just 10-15 min by foot you get to the city centre, and for the lazies the area is plenty of bus stops that lead you to the centre of Prague. Good transportation even during the night hours. The hotel was clean and comfy, the rooms very large and the bathrooms very clean. If you're considering going to Prague you should definitely go to Gloria Hotel!

This was my fourth time staying at Hotel Gloria and it's still absolutely fantastic value for money. Can not fault it in any way. We had a double room for 4 nights including breakfast for £80! On arrival, I wasn't 100% happy with our room but the room was changed for us almost immediately with absolutely no fuss. The hotel is clean, tidy and welcoming and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Great selection at breakfast. Superb nights sleep on very comfortable beds - room very warm. Will most definitely stay here again on my next visit. Starting to feel like my second home!

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors are quieter.

This hotel is a wee bit out of the centre of Prague, but this is no problem if you utilise the excellent public transport system: a 3 day ticket for all metro, buses and trams is 310CZK.

Buses outside the hotel are very frequent, although busy during rush hours. Buy a ticket at the airport and that takes you all over Prague without spending another ‘crown’. But beware: only stamp your ticket the first time you use it, so that inspectors can verify it.

Breakfasts have been criticised by other users, but there is a wide choice available, and I thought the quality was fine. The toaster is slow however! Tables are cleaned very quickly, and we learned to go down a bit later for breakfast as there appeared to be a party of students staying: they were very quiet, however, and well behaved.

The staff were helpful with advice and problems, and the room was cleaned to an excellent standard. The bathroom was in a fine state of repair, and really the only part of the building which could do with extensive renovation was the exterior. In keeping with the surrounding area, the facade of the Gloria is a bit run down, but it displayed a fading elegance which I found appealing.

Our room, 45, overlooked Prokopova, and the Zizkov Television Tower was also visible not too far away: we could see some of the Climbing Babies from our room. Other reviewers have mentioned noise from the streets below, but we never noticed this in the slightest.

Tea making facilities would have been welcome, but this is a small point in relation to the overall value of the hotel.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to visitors who don’t intend to spend a lot of time in it: it’s a great base for exploring the wonderful city of Prague.

Room Tip: The Prokopova side of the hotel may be better if offered a room there.

Hotel was ok quite far away from town centre. Room was clean and small. Cracks over walls and pen marks. The carpet was very badly stained. Housekeeping was very poor during our stay. Breakfast was a bizarre combination of hotdogs and savoury rice

Spent two days at Hotel Gloria, room very clean, towels lovely and soft and bedding spotless, lovely soft pillows, toiletries provided, bathroom very nice. Hotel is situated near a busy road, noise not an issue as there is an inner and outer window which was effective, there is no air conditioning however this did not affect us at the time of year we stayed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast basic. Found plenty of restaurants nearby, serving good food in a friendly atmosphere. Bus is just across the road which takes you into town, tickets can be purchased from hotel reception but make sure that you validate your ticket when you get on the bus (ticket machine on bus to slide it into) or you could end up paying a hefty fine if the ticket inspector gets on, i am advising this because we were unaware of this as first visit to Prague and was given a hefty fine of 1600 chz which was an unpleasant experience so hope this prevents this happening to anyone else as apparently the ticket inspector targets tourist. Apart from this couldn't fault hotel at all as it met all our needs and was very comfortable.

it is located a bit far away from the center but the bus station and tram are very close and in a few minutes you can reach the center . the staff is very helpful and english speaking.
the price is very good so considering the price all the conditions are acceptable...beds are very comfortable and the room is nice. the floor might be a little not so clean but when you're in Prague you spend so little time in the hotel so it's irrilevant .
the breakfast is good and the service very good.
it's a good idea to buy a ticket for all day and all kind of transport. it costs 110 kcz (about 4.5 euro) . we used this ticket for the bus to the airport too (nr.119)
the area around the hotel is kind of suburb but not so noisy as the other hotel in the center.
