Stayed here on a business trip. Really busy and I got their last room. At least that is what they told me when I went down to report wet towels in my bathroom. Yeah, a leak or something and they never bothered to go back and check and or clean it up! As in my title they gotta learn a few things. Rooms are nice and they are almost finished with reconstrction / refurbishment but somehow they didn't get it still. Leaving reconstrction junk next to the main entry doesn't really make a good first impression. Hotel is already unlucky being on top of a disco as well. Location is nice however. It also boasts a squash court and health fitness area. Maybe in a year or two once they understand the hotel biz I might try it again.

We booked the hotel and payed in advance to get a good deal. We should never have done that. When we wanted to stay an extra night, we had to email the hotel 5 times to get an answer and trying to fix it by telephone wasnt much better - they were very rude on the phone. It seems the staff at this hotel haven't realised that their job is to provide service!

The rooms are big, and clean enough, and prices are fine.

The Rubicon is an ok hotel. If advertised as a 2 star, it would be more honest but that is a very common practice all over the world. Great location and a good breakfast. The staff should be more helpful.

We thought it was ok for the money we paid. The only thing that realy was bad was the beds. Hard as a rock. The other things were pretty ok.

We had a travel alarm for the door and used the safety.

Its not the happiest place on earth, but cheep and close to everything.

We wanted to pay as little as possible but still wanted to live central.

You get what you pay for .

Good location 5 mins walk from Old Town Square. Rooms clean and towels changed daily, good shower. Variety for breakfast (cereals, muesli, yoghurt, porridge, bread, cheese, ham, hot dog sausages, etc). Well-priced I thought. We were on first floor so perhaps higher floors would be quieter?

Room Tip: First floor was pretty noisy and we were on the non-street side. All the noise from outside gets ech...

i did read the reviews on this hotel, but unfortunately i read them after booking.... Tried in vain to change hotel but couldn't, but i'm glad i didn't, with this hotel you get exactly what you pay for its clean, i had no problems with the staff, the breakfast was ok, they are doing a lot of work at the hotel and as i was there they had laid all new carpets. the only thing i have to say that is negative is that there is no mirror in the room.
it is also very near to the town and there is a great bar across the road called the orange bar, thats a must if you go to this hotel...
All in all we had a good time, no frills it is simply just a place to sleep, but you don't go to a beautiful city like Prague to sit in your hotel room.....

Room Tip: Breakfast room is on the second floor so it can get a little noisy in the morning

Depending on your reason for travel, and you general experience of hotels, you may wish to avoid this place. I went with a group of lads on a stag do, and to be honest, most of our group may have been asked to leave had this been any other hotel. Which gives you an idea of the ambience. Cheap, centrally located, full of stags getting drunk, and evidently somewhat fooled//conned/badly informed families and couples from around Europe. The Czech for hotel is hastel, and to be honest, if you regard this place as a HOSTEL, you would be better placed.

The rooms are crap, decor terrible, beds uncomfortable, and breakfasts disappointing. The hotel is noisy and full of stags getting drunk, vomiting, and slamming doors.

So if you want somewhere to go with a group of blokes, where your noise (and damage) will be tolerated, Rubicon if for you. All else best stay away. Much nicer hotels are but a few steps away.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel. Seriously. Or stay at home. Or don't bother with a room at all, and ro...
