My family and I stayed at Lindner Hotel Prague Castle on the 23th of April 2014.

The location is beautifully quiet and well connected to the city center and the airport, at arrival we were friendly welcomed by Katerina at the reception, fast check in and well informed of all hotel details. The hotel is beautiful, clean and quiet, most of the rooms give you a little bit from the monastery charm that is behind.

We have enjoyed the facilities from the hotel, they have a relaxing library that we enjoyed with a glass of wine, great atmosphere after exploring Prague, next morning we had breakfast at the open terrace of the restaurant, we were friendly welcomed by Christine and Natasha, they were our waitresses afterwards we inspected the painting collection in the dining room.

Amazing location
Charming design
Friendly team

We will definitely be back soon for more:)

We stayed in the Lindner hotel foe 3 night in April 2014, and must say that we enjoyed the experience. The hotle is located in the side near the castle, very good location from the city castle, but not the closest from the city center, although you have the tram that leaves you almost in the front of the hotel. The hotel is nice, not the most modern but all right. Good breakfast and the people are nice. Internet and computers/printers really old fashion

We have recently stayed at the Lindner Hotel Prague Castle. Excellent, fantastic what more can I say. The rooms very comfortable, massive beds and everything you need. The hotel staff couldn't do enough especially the girls who were on at breakfast each day. Beautiful setting and an ideal location. Really looking forward to going back.

Stayed in this Hotel from April 6th - 11th 2014 . Six of us stayed in this hotel in 3 rooms and had a fabulous stay. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable they are equiped with everything you need , an enormous super kingsize bed, tea making facilities, safe , TV ,iron and board..We also used the excellent sauna and gym facilities..The breakfast in the morning is another huge plus everything you could possibly want for breakfast ranging from continental to full English and always greeted with a lovely smile and welcome from the staff especially Christina and Natasha who were a delight..There is a nice bar area for relaxing also..The hotel itself is situated in a perfect place as far as we were concerned at the top of the hill near to Prague Castle which takes about 25mins to walk down to Charles Bridge..If you prefer to catch the tram there is a stop close to the hotel....Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone ...the only slight negative was no Wi-fi in the room but there is wifi signal down in Lobby and bar area

Room Tip: Most rooms are the same top quality there aren`t great views from the rooms because hotel is surrou...

We've stayed in a Lindner hotel before, in Antwerp, so we know this German chain maintains high standards.

This hotel is located in the castle area, which is some distance above the city centre. Don't be put off by this; it's good to stroll downhill to the city itself and for the return, uphill journey the tram service (Route 22) is frequent and cheap. There's a tram stop a few hundred yards from the hotel and you can buy tickets at reception that are valid for 30 minutes travel for 24 crowns. The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring the important nearby tourist sites such as the castle itself and the cathedral church of St Vitus.

As to the hotel itself we found that, without exception, the staff were friendly, welcoming and ready to help. All of the staff members we encountered spoke good English. We only ate breakfast in the hotel. This is a self-service buffet with plenty of choice. There's a bar in reception but be aware the prices are typical for this sort of hotel - not cheap. One thing to be aware of if you stay here is that there's a limited choice of restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel; if you want a wide choice you need to go into the city centre.

Free Wi-Fi is only available in the public areas of the hotel though in fact we found that our room was on the floor above one of these areas so we could access the Wi-Fi in our room. But in a hotel of this quality it seems perverse not to extend the Wi-Fi throughout the hotel - each bedroom has internet cable connections but that's not much use if you have a tablet.

We booked a de luxe double room which turned out to be smaller than we expected. Dark decor and furniture made the room seem rather gloomy though perfectly satisfactory. We enquired about a change of room and the staff were perfectly prepared to help but the alternative room we were shown was no bigger and , though lighter, looked out onto a blank wall. We were only staying for two more nights so decided against the disruption of a room change. To be fair, the size of the rooms is dictated by the fact that the hotel is a converted 16th century building so some compromise is inevitable.

Overall, this is a very good hotel to use for a short break, especially for those who prefer to be out of the busy city centre.

Next to the hotel is the Strahov monastery. Inside the grounds is the St Norbert pub/restaurant. The food is cheap & cheerful but the main attraction is the excellent range of beers that are brewed in-house. These are well worth sampling - though be careful: they're quite strong!

What I liked:
The rooms are big and modern and super clean. TV is great. No WIFI but PC worked with RJ45 cable supplied at front desk. Service was good and at front desk Martin was outstanding. The lobby was beautiful, the grounds and hotel beautiful. I liked fresh bottle of water supplied everyday. The bar gave me a bucket of ice with a smile every night. Front desk service by Martin was 5 star.

What I did not like so much: No AC or air so rooms run hot and somewhat darkish. No WIFI in room (ok internet did work on cable, but smartphones are dead). Nuts in mini bar tasted like dead fish. Did not like the "no view" walls you look at. Parking is 26 Euros a day....

What I hated! : My invoice exceeded 600Euros and yet after I returned the uneaten spoiled nuts to the front desk, and they accepted the return upon check out the manager came over an in a nasty and irritating way refused to credit my bill for the 4 Euros. I had to take the manager aside (Initial A.C.) and have a yelling and screaming match with him. He refused and said they tasted good to him. I said, I don't care how they tasted to him, I returned them and want a simple 4 Euro credit, they were rancid. He still refused, was insincere and horrible to work with. Our corporate function included 30 rooms etc. and it was huge and this guy decided to go to war on the nuts. After massive energy and yelling he finally gave me the credit but spoiled the entire stay. I travel for living, have millions of miles and I have never experienced such unprofessional, uncaring and stupid management in my 40 years! On principal stay away as you never know when this kind of poor service and attitude will turn against you.
