We moved to this hotel after a bad experience elsewhere in Prague and it was like a breath of fresh air. After an admittedly long hill climb (not an issue if you haven't walked from the other side of Prague), walking into the picturesque setting to a clean, modern, air conditioned(!) hotel reception and being greeted and sorted quickly was all we could ask for.

The room was lovely, very spacious, clean and well presented. Bed was massive and very comfortable, could have spent all day laid down there. We didn't try the food so can't comment on that, but the bar service was excellent when we used it, and there's plenty of nice restaurants around the monastery.

There's a 'free wifi' in the lobby, but if you sign up to the Lindner loyalty programme, you can have free WiFi in your room, which was fast enough for us to stream a TV show while putting holiday snaps onto Facebook. TV channels were mainly news or in German, would be good to have had an English speaking non-news channel, but then maybe there aren't that many English people who stay there!

The shower was hot with good pressure, one of the better ones I've come across.

Would definitely stay here again in an instant, wish we could have stayed longer.

Why do I call it an Insider hotel? Because it seems to be way out of the town center ......but it is not really, as you are within walking distance to the castle and the Dome and if you go to the famous Altstätter Ring or Charles Bridge, you walk down to the center and back up to the hotel you take the tram, which stops almost in front of the hotel. So you do not need one of the much more expensive hotels in the center of the town.
We booked three rooms for a family visit to Prague. The rooms were big enough and clean and modern. Everything was available, whatever you needed. Breakfast was plentiful and good and you could eat outside in the yard on a sunny and warm day. Internet is free, but only if you are a member of the Lindner hotel group. The staff at the hotel (who spoke well English or German) was always very helpful.
May be one little ciriticism: our family had a lunch with some family members who came to Prague from a distant Czech town to visit with us. They only spoke Czech. When they requested the menu card ....you wouldn't believe it, but the head waiter told them they have no card in Czech language, but only in German and English (this is a hotel in the Czech Republic!!). Can you imagine you are eating out in your country and they cannot offer you a menue card in your language? This I have never experienced before and our family guests have been quite astonished and somewhat bewildered.
But once again, the hotel was very acceptable, the service, especially at the reception was excellent and we would come again. In fact we have chosen this hotel, as we have been there some years ago when it was owned by Crown Plaza from the Intercontinental Group, who have sold it now to the Lindner Group.

My husband and I just spent a few days at the Lindner Hotel in Prague and we really enjoyed it. The room was very comfortable and quiet and we loved the location, being slightly away from the bustle of the centre. The staff were very courteous and really did look after us well.

Set within the walls of the Monastery, the Lindner Hotel Prague Castle represents an oasis of calm within walking distance (around 20-30mins) of the hustle of Prague Old Town. The rooms are large with an equally large bed which was very comfortable. Other notable things worth mentioning include the buffet breakfast which had a superb choice including freshly cooked waffles! and the proximity to The Strahov Monastic Brewery which serves keenly priced evening meals and excellent beer. The only downside is the charge for WIFI, which is a bit out of step with other equivalent hotels these days, although if you join their rewards programme at reception, it is offered for free. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

My partner and I are just back from a 4 night stay in the Linder and so happy with our choice of hotel. The grounds of the hotel are perfect to relax, the rooms are spacious, clean and the beds so comfy. The hotel is little bit of a walk but its in such a peaceful location that didnt matter .The hotel staff were also very accommodating and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Prague is such a beautiful city an the Lindner is a beautiful hotel.

I stayed in this hotel as part of an Insight tour, for three nights. The room was very good, clean, quiet and comfortable. Only thing was that they use a soap dispenser and don't provide a cake of soap or shampoo at all and that doesn't suit me.The hotel is a way away from the city so you either walk ( about half an hour downhill), take a taxi or the tram nearby. Breakfast was a good choice of hot and cold, range of meats and cheeses, eggs, bacon, beans and a large range of teas and coffees. Beer was very expensive compared to buying in the city. Overall, a good choice if you don't mind being on the edge of town a bit.
