Most of the locals in Prague do not know the location of this hotel so make sure you get directions from the hotel or google maps before you arrive if it's your 1st time in Prague. The hotel is located just behind the Powder Town and within walking distance of the town square and other tourist attractions. The rooms are of a decent size with a separate shower area and WC area in the room. There is wifi in the room and 2 computers at the Lobby with free Internet access. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home in Prague so don't hesitate to ask them for assistance. All in all, a wonderful hotel stay.

This hotel is top in its category. Great location in the middle of Old Town. Nice rooms. The only minus is its breakfast. I strongly recommend for a tourist in Prague.

The welcome was great and the rooms not only clean but also quirky yet fresh.

The location is pretty much spot on.

The sole complaint I have is about the quality of the breakfast and breakfast staff which did not match the rest of the hotel.

BUT this was a great romantic breakaway hotel and I would highly recommend it.

What can I say about this hotel other than it was fantastic. I did loads of research about Prague hotels and picked this one. Well I couldn't fault it. We stayed in an attic Junior Suite and it was just lovely. It cost more than the standard room but was well worth it. The room was spacious and characterful and had its own little roof terrace although I understand most of the attic suites only have windows. The bathroom was just brilliant with an extremely large walk-in rain shower, massive rectangular basin and loads of storage space. Nice toiletries were replaced every day. There is a safe which is free to use and a minibar. Large flat screen t.v. and Queen size very comfortable bed.

The hotel is a centuries old converted brewery and the conversion has kept all the best bits of the old building whilst being modern and light. It could not be in a better placed area. Around the hotel is a warren of old streets with nice individual shops, bars and restaurants. It is a five minute walk to the old town square which is just lovely with beautiful breathtaking buildings and nice places to eat and drink.

Breakfast in the hotel is the usual hotel buffet and was always fresh. Very good coffee and juices.

Prague itself is just wonderful. Loads of character, quite cheap and you are spoilt for choice in terms of eating and drinking. There are many hidden away little bars, some that brew their own beers, some that have lovely live music such as jazz and all serving good food.

A 'must do' when in Prague is the Prague city Segway tour. This was just fantastic. You meet at the Segway tour office and are given a quick lesson on how to ride the Segway. It seems a little daunting but don't be put off, they are very easy to control and ride. You are then taken with a small group on a three hour tour of the city and you really do cover some distance - all around the old town, jewish quarter, mala strana, right up to the Castle and back down again. It is a great way of quickly seeing all the city and deciding which bits you would like to go back to and spend a little more time. The guide is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Overall I was very impressed with the city and this hotel. Some people had said it was 'stag weekend' city but we honestly did not see anything like that. It was just a beautiful, tasteful place with good eating and drinking. I would go back like a shot!

When we arrived, Hotel Barcelo said that they were full (even though we had a reservation), and they would have to ask us to go to a hotel across the street (they were very polite and apologetic). So we went to the Grand Hotel Bohemia for one night, which was a fabulous place. When we came back to the Hotel Barcelo they wanted to upgrade us for the rest of our stay because of the inconvenience, so they gave us suites (!) complete with a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit! So, we definitely felt pampered. But, in general, it was a very nice hotel, the staff were helpful, the breakfast was good, and the location was excellent.

The hotel was ideally situated a few mins walk from the Old Town Square and 5 mins from the bus from the airport. It is an old building immaculately renovated inside. Rooms are spacious, beds firm and comfortable, large bathroom with a powerful shower. Breakfasts (included in our Easy Jet Holiday) were good value - varied buffet. The staff on the desk and cleaning staff were all pleasant, friendly and when I mislaid my contact lenses and emailed from the UK, they responded quickly, politely and tried hard to find them for me. I could have stayed longer than our 5 nights.

The room was very spacious and absolutely beautiful. I'm not surprised it was fully booked when I was there. The bathroom was large and had a gorgeous rain shower which got me going for those early starts. Little frustrating that they don't have irons in all of the rooms - kind of essential for a business trip. The hotel is also very hot in the summer so watch out if you're not an air con fan. We basically had to leave it on all day in our rooms to be able to return from a day of meetings to something reasonable.

Location more than makes up for this - you can easily stroll everywhere from the hotel, to the main square or beyond to the castle. The breakfast was nice - a step beyond continental, and I was especially appreciative of the granola! The staff were also very nice, apart from the poor room service guy, who had to refuse me room service because he was the only one serving in the restaurant. More staff needed Barcelo! When you're travelling solo eating downstairs this is not ideal. Luckily I liked the hotel so much that I didn't mind but if I had stayed longer and this had happened again it would have been less impressive.

Overall, I'd pick to stay here again in that elegant room the next time I'm in Prague, no question.
