This firm operates rental apartments at Andel, Karla Englise and Na Zatlance. The owners tried to pull off a dirty trick on me when I checked out and left the country. My security deposit somehow was not being refunded, in spite of the owners' insistence that I paid the last month rent and got the refund later. An obvious dirty trick. So, beware, and maybe let the security deposit cover your last month rent. It may not be the most honest way, but owners are not either.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Marian studio which is on the ground floor. Nice size apartment and bathroom, convenient to not have to haul luggage up flights of stairs. The only negative things about our stay were the very flat pillows that felt like there was no pillow when sleeping, and the thermostat is in the hallway and shared with the apartment next door. Luckily we didn't have any temperature battles with whoever was staying next door, but some people may not be so lucky. Location of the apartments is fantastic! In the Mala Strana district ( a.k.a. Lesser Quarter but in no way lesser!), right at the steps to the castle, and a 5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. There is a Starbucks and many other cafés in the area. Mala Strana, in my opinion, is much more pleasant than the tourist filled Old Town district. One last thing, the airport transfer service offered through the hotel was very convenient and well worth 22 euros. The man who drove us was very nice and gave us a mini tour during our drive. Highly recommend the apartments and airport transfer!

I had high hopes for this apartment rental but they were quickly dashed. We rented the Lorenz apartment for the weekend and let Dean know we were driving in and would not be able to check in until 4pm at the earliest. Dean acted like this was fine but when we hit a traffic jam and did not arrive until 6pm (we called him to let him know this) he was rude and let us know we were bothering him. They claim to have parking "close by" but in fact it was 2 train stops and 10mins of walking to get the public parking area with all our luggage. Upon getting into our room we noticed we only had 2 towels for 3 people (of which they were so coarse and scratchy you could sand hardwood floors with them). We asked for additional towels are were told they didn't have anymore towels in the whole place. Breakfast (which was included) was very stale hard bread and warm OJ. The bed was a very thin lumpy mattress and pillows that were as flat as pancakes.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Unfortunately, there was some key miscommunication during your stay. First I would like to share that we are very grateful when anyone calls us with updates regarding arrival times. It makes everyone's experience better. So, I would never be rude about such a call. In fact, I was outside and reception was poor so a 30 second phone conversation may have been misinterpreted.

Once you were here, my colleague Bernardo met you and frankly, he was new to the job and he was left without full instructions. That's my fault, I apologize. It seems he gave you the wrong towels and didn't know where we keep others. We certainly have more towels, and of better quality!

Regarding parking, we are deep in the historical center of the city so parking is limited. But, we have researched numerous options that vary in price and distance. There is indeed car parking a very short walk from us. And, there are garage options maybe 2 minutes walk from the residence. The option you chose was the cheaper one that is farther away. It certainly was not mandatory to park there. Even so, two tram stops in the city center of Prague is a convenient walk. Still, I think we can always try to be clearer regarding parking options when confirming booking and upon arrival.

Regarding breakfast, this seems to be a unique bad experience. We actually have two separate choices for breakfast to cater to different tastes. Also, our guests have the special benefit of ordering additional items at incredibly cheap prices.

Personally, I find it so very unfortunate you had so much trouble, especially since our Lorenz apartment is a favorite of so many guests - as other reviews here suggest. And, the discounted price and free accommodation for your dog and child was another benefit that I thought was helpful. But, I understand that not everyone will be pleased all the time.

I think in the end, a lot of troubles could have been avoided with better communication. Obviously we didn't respond well to your towel request, but other things could have been easily resolved with simple contact. We will look into ways of improving communication from our side.

To anyone thinking of staying with us, or anywhere for that matter, if you need something please ask and be direct when possible. Our residence takes pride in providing quality accommodation. We are a family business with direct love and care for our guests and our unique historical building. And, we are happy to share that feeling with you. So please feel free to discuss anything with us, before or during your stay.

Kindest regards,

Dean

My husband, 8 year old daughter and I stayed for 3 days this month in the Ludmila apartment, one of several available in this beautiful old building on a quiet street right below Prague Castle. Before booking I did a lot of research, read a lot of reviews on different locations and decided on this one. I emailed Dean, the manager of the apartment, to see if it was available and he responded back right away. Very quick and easy communication every time I contacted him.

We arranged a transfer from the airport through Dean--great price--and were very pleased with the company he uses (not affiliated with Residence Thunovska). Our friendly driver spoke good English and enthusiastically welcomed us to Prague. He came prepared with a map of the city on which he had circled the location of our apartment, as well as other places he thought we would like to see. Very kind and beyond what we expected from a cab driver! He gave us his card and we ended up using this company two more times (transferring to another hotel where my husband had a trade show and then back to the airport at the end of our trip) and had two other drivers who were both exceptional.

We stayed in the Ludmila apartment which, be warned, is at the top of the building and, of course, no elevators to get you up (my daughter counted 89 steps up she thinks:). This was not a problem for us and Dean met us upon arrival and helped carry our bags up, but others may want an apartment on a lower floor.

The apartment itself was lovely, spacious and exceptionally clean. We loved the feeling of being up above it all and the views of St. Nicholas Church and the Petrin Tower out our windows. The "master" bedroom faces the front of the building and there was some noise from the medieval style bar/restaurant down the street and some bagpipes playing until late several nights, but we kind of enjoyed that "bonus":) The night we kept the windows shut we didn't hear anything at all. Bright, clean bathroom (bring your own toiletries-they provided only 1 towel/person) and a nice kitchenette, which we didn't use.

We opted to pay extra for the breakfast that was served in the cafe on the first floor of the building. It was a basic Continental breakfast--ham, bread, cheese and some pastries, juice and coffee--but tasty and convenient. We overslept the first morning because of the time change and missed breakfast, but there is a Starbucks right around the corner that took care of our need for caffeine, as well as many, many other restaurants.

The location of this apartment cannot be beat. We simply walked up the steps to Prague Castle or down the street and around the corner to Charles Bridge. Loved it! Prague is a fabulous, walkable city which we found very welcoming and enjoyable and this was a great place to stay while visiting.

Room Tip: Ludmila may have too many steps for some travelers. If you don't want to climb, choose an apart...

If you are going to Prague, you must stay here. My friend and I just spent 3 nights in the Lorenz Apartment and were so impressed. Right at the bottom of the castle steps, you can either walk up to the gardens to watch beautiful sunsets, or walk down and cross the bridge to Old Town within minutes.

Built in 16th century, this building has several different apartments of a range of sizes. There is no elevator, but the great service from the owner, Dean, included bringing our bags up to our rooms for us.

Our apartment had a big kitchen with an antique table, a huge bathroom by European standards with all the mod cons and a separate bedroom with seating area. We had such an awesome time, and the owners were so incredibly helpful.

Make sure you get Dean or Martina to organize your airport transfer because at 40 Euros is the best deal around.

Thank you, Dean, for a great stay!

Room Tip: The Lorenz apartment is on the first floor (second floor for us North Americans). Very quiet and fa...

What a fantastic review, thanks so much! I think you captured Prague and the apartment perfectly. Thanks again for staying with us.

One note of clarification, the transfer to the airport is 550 CZK which is only about 22 EUR, not 40.

All the best,

Dean

My husband, 2 adult children and I spent 5 nights in the Magdalena Apt. The location is great - near the steps to the Prague Castle and walking distance to St. Charles Bridge. The neighborhood is quiet and the apartment is very tidy and clean. Having a washer/dryer was very helpful. And while we usually take breakfast on our own, we chose instead to accept the offer of breakfast in the small cafe below the apartments. The continental style breakfast was good and was especially helpful to us on days when we met a guide for early touring. We would stay here again.

Excellent accommodation: very nice and spacious loft, well equipped, clean, very quiet at night, located perfectly just in the middle between the two main Praha attractions (Castle and Carlo bridge). Very spacious and bright bathroom, very modern kitchen. In an ancient building with original stones and roof beans.
The double bed was fine but the mattresses of the 3rd and 4th bed were not really comfortable. Also, the apartment is at the forth floor with no elevator so not suited for people with disabilities or very small children
