Indian Jewel (or Jewel India) is, as the name implies, a great place to have Indian food in Prague. It is in old town. The eating area is a huge shaded area outside. The day we went, the lunch special was Aloo Gobi or Potatoes and Cauliflower with rice. We had a side order of Tandoori Nan, yogurt, and mango lassis. Our host was Deepu Chatterjee, a man of great charm and wit. Lunch for two cost us around $20. Deepu managed to get us some pickles as well.
The food was quite authentic and outstanding as good as food I have had in Delhi, India. After some unfortunate experiences elsewhere this was a welcome change. We would unhesitatingly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent food at reasonable price, especially Indian food.
