“Great hotel, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

We stayed in February for 4 nights. The hotel was really good, our room was spacious, bed really comfy and the shower was great. Breakfast was really amazing with so much choice even for vegetarians. The location was really good, we walked everywhere as your only 10 minutes walk to all of the attractions. The staff were really good especially in the bar, really attentive and polite, a credit to the hotel. It was easy to get the bus from the airport and then the metro which took about 40 minutes in total. There are a number of great restaurants nearby so if you didn't want to go too far after being out all day you had good choices in either direction. Would really recommend the hotel and Prague, it was truly beautiful.

Having never been to Prague before I was initially concerned about the hotel location, feeling it might be too far removed. I could not have been more wrong. Like others have said, a short 10 minute walk will get you to the Old Town Square. A certain plus was the Palladium Shopping Centre located meters from the hotel with a supermarket close by.

Check in and out was friendly, smooth and problem free. The restaurant staff are amazing and extremely friendly. Always greeting and saying hello. Hotel breakfast has a great selection from healthy fruit to creamy pastries, and everything in between, the choice is yours. Although very busy, the staff always seems to find you a seat, sometimes at a table with others. This is great though, I always love the random conversations.

My only complaint would be internet access. A HUGE drawback is the lack to WiFi the hotel rooms, or rather, the lack of free WiFi. Sure you can have WiFi access, but it will cost you 7€ a day! Free Wifi is available in the lobby, but extremely slow. To the point where I figure they purposefully throttle bandwidth to entice people to pay for fast internet in the rooms. This is 2014, free in-room Wifi no longer a nicety, it is expected. Connecting with family to guarantee safety while traveling requires you to sit in the lobby with others around while you facetime or skype?... not very cozy.

Other than the internet issues, the hotel was absolutely wonderful. I will certainly return and have no reservations recommending to others.

Oh! The bellhop! Amazing fellow, very friendly and helpful!

The Grand Majestic is a fantastic hotel in a really central location. Perfect for exploring Prague on foot, convenient for some fabulous restaurants, close to wonderful theatres and opera houses and a shopping mall that is open until 10.00pm on the doorstep- what more can you ask for! The hotel facilities were exceptional, clean and staff were courteous and extremely helpful. I have no reservation in recommending the Grand Majestic.

Room Tip: An apartment room was perfect for our needs- roomy, airy because we had a balcony and really well ap...

We stayed for 3 nights arriving Tuesday 25th February. We used bus 100 from the airport and the Yellow line on the metro to get to the hotel at a grand cost of 32K each! Which took approximately 45 minutes in total. We were allocated room 132 on the first floor on a non-smoking floor. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were pleasant to deal with. The room was spacious and clean and there was a fridge used as a mini bar, but there was some space for us to use for ourselves. We thought the room smelt of smoke slightly, which might have been why the window was left open for ventilation. The bed was comfortable, but the two single duvets was rather strange! The breakfast was good, you had the option of cereal, fruit, hot options and pastries. I took my own bread as have intolerance's and used the toaster each morning. The location of the hotel is very good, just off the square by the Powder Tower, it takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the Old Town Square, then another 10 minutes from here to the Charles Bridge. We visited the Chicago Music bar opposite the hotel for cocktails (much cheaper than the hotel) which was very nice and also tried La Boca Restaurant just down from the hotel which was also nice (nice presentation but not very big portions). Would recommend Staromestska Restaurant in the square in the Old Town which was very good and cheap. Eating from the stalls in the Old Town is also an experience we would recommend, you only need 1 to share between 2 people. We walked to most place in Prague as the area is not that big and used the single trip metro tickets if needed (30 mins for 16K and 90 mins for 32K). The weather was dry whilst we were there but it was a little chilly, you needed gloves/scarf and sunglasses. We would recommend this hotel to other travellers wishing to visit Prague.

Room Tip: Ask for a non smoking floor

We previewed this hotel on Trip Advisor and booked it for mid-February. The hotel is located right near the Palladium Shopping Center, about a 15 minute walk from the old town center. The room was beautiful, quiet, comfortable and secure. The staff was helpful and courteous. Our package included our room, breakfast (delicious buffet) and round trip from the airport. The ride from the airport was about $60 extra and well worth the security of not being ripped off by the notorious cabbies of the city. I would stay there again without hesitation. The area was quiet and safe while located near restaurants, transportation, and the beautiful sights of Prague. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Our room faced away from the street and was in the no-smoking section on the 3rd floor. Although we...

Just come back from a brilliant 5 night trip to Prague. The hotel was well located for all the major tourist attractions in the city, with lots of good restaurants and bars nearby.
The room was a nice size and was cleaned to a good standard every day. The blackout curtains ensured a good night's sleep.
Amazing breakfast buffet with a large variety of choices to cater for even the fussiest of eaters.
The charge for in-room Wi-Fi was a little on the pricey side; however, usage was free in the lobby and the restaurant area.
Overall, a fantastic stay - we would definitely not think twice about using this hotel again or recommending to family and friends.

Returned today from a 4 day city break to Prague for the first time and was delighted with this hotel. The location could not have been better, easy access to the main attractions and lots of great small bars and restaurants round about locally and further afield. The staff were helpful when needed and there was a laid back approach to all the services which my wife and i liked. I thought we got excellent value for money from this hotel and the shuttle service to and from the airport was also first class. We would like to go to Prague again some time in the future and would definitely stay here again.
