My husband and I stayed here the weekend before Christmas 2011 and it was one of the best weekend breaks I have ever been on! We managed to easily navigate ourselves from the Airport by bus, metro and then a short tram stop to the hotel (however we realised later that the tram wasn't necessary as it is a short 10 min walk from the metro station!). The hotel was stunning from the moment you walk in and the staff were very friendly. When we booked we asked for a red room as we had heard that they were slightly nicer however we were given a blue room (that felt slightly on the small side). A short trip to reception later and we were walking into a beautiful, slightly larger, red room with a gorgeous bathroom and an amazing power shower. The room was at the rear of the hotel and thankfully had air conditioning which we had to use even in the freezing month of December as the hotel itself was quite warm! However the whole hotel has a very modern feel and is kept very clean and well kept. Location was excellent, the hotel is in a quiet area only a 20 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas... we ended up walking EVERYWHERE and really recommend doing the same rather than using the tram as you really get to explore all the wee winding streets and stunning architecture for yourself! We arrived early and although staff did everything they could to check us in earlier than planned we ended up leaving our cases and took a wander down to the shopping centre for some lunch! We also checked out the prices of beer in the Tesco and ended up returning on our way home to cram as many bottles as we could in our suitcases as it was so ridiculously cheap!

Prague itself was stunning, especially at Christmas time, and even the overwhelming numbers of tourists didn't put us off in the slightest. The Old Town Christmas market was buzzing and there were lots of food stalls and street performers! We were recommended the free walking tour with Sandemans and it definitely didn't disappoint. Our tour guide Amy was an absolute joy (even though we were all freezing!) she kept us amused and told the most beautiful stories. She was clearly passionate about the city and this came across in her delivery! It is not actually free as they ask you at the end to give a 'donation' for how you think the tour went... and to be honest by the end we were so amazed by Amy that we happily gave her a wee sum of money. We even went back the next day and did the tour 'walk' just ourselves as there is honestly so much to take in!

Room Tip: We definitely preferred the red rooms!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in May, and were very impressed. The hotel lobby, guest rooms, and lounge have been recently renovated. Our room was bright and very modern, with slightly funky décor. The room had ample space, including the closets and cupboards. It also had a safe. Even the bathroom was modern, with decent water pressure from the shower.

We had asked for a quiet room, and were given one on the 6th floor, with a room facing the back of the building, away from traffic. The hotel appears to be located in a safe district, and we felt comfortable walking to the hotel after dark, and encountered no problems.

Every interaction we had with the staff was pleasant, and they handled every request quickly and efficiently.

The only reason I don’t rate this hotel a 5 out of 5 is that it’s located just slightly away from the city center/main attractions. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the base of Castle Hill/Charles Bridge, and another 10 minutes from the bridge to the Old Town Square. Add an additional 10 minutes to the New Town Square. Close enough that we didn’t feel the need to plan/wait to take the tram continually, but far enough to be aggravating after a few trips back and forth.

Overall our trip to Prague was fantastic and exceeded our expectations, and our stay at the Red and Blue Design Hotel was great.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights on our first trip to Prague.
We arrived quite early in the morning and were worried our room would not be ready - the staff were wonderful and quickly got us a room! Lovely, light and airy room on the 2nd floor towards the back of the hotel. Nice and peaceful, clean and tidy.

The staff were also wonderful. Each night they were more than happy to make reservations at restaurants for us and nothing seemed any trouble.
Breakfast was good, and we actually managed to get ourselves up in time for it! The location we found was great. A nice quite quiet area but with some great places to eat and drink and it was good for exploring Petrin Park. We actually didn't use any transport and walked everywhere.

If we ever came back we would definitely stay here again and also because we got such a good rate considering some of the prices for other hotels that seemed not as good!

Really happy and pleasantly surprised, would happily recommend this hotel!

Room size of most European Hotels. Cute room. Nicely decorated. Although, the room the sleeping area is small, the bathroom was large-however, there were no towel racks. Nice sitting area to use the internet away from the sleeping area. Breakfast is very nice good variety. Service for breakfast was terrible. No restaurant. After breakfast food can only be ordered from bar and get a room service charge of 5 euros. Food subpar and expensive. Location is not as close to sites as indicated. You can take a short walk down the hill (not a bad hill) to a tram stop or walk along the street and a few shops and restaurants are there. Buy a day ticket for the tram at the tram stop across the road. This hotel is best for adults.

Dear Daxidebri

Thank you very much for your review. I am glad that you find our rooms to be cute and nicely decorated. I am very sorry to read that you had bad experience with the breakfast staff and delivered food.

We have in detail discussed your review with our breakfast supplier and made sure that none of our future customers has same experience with the breakfast service. Please accept my deepest apologies for this inconvenience.

Our hotel, indeed, does not offer restaurant for lunch and dinner. If we have a request from our customers, we order food for them from a close by Italian restaurant and ask only for EUR 5 delivery fee to cover the restaurant delivery cost. If you were not happy with the food, it is a pitty that you did not let us know and we would sort out your complaint directly with the restaurant and certainly not charge anything for the food. I am also very sorry that you had such a negative experience with the delivered food.

I hope that these issues did not spoil your overall experience of our hotel and Prague in general. We hope to see you in our hotel soon again!

Kind regards

Ondrej

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a 5 night stay in this quirky hotel during the Easter hols. The reception staff are very customer orientated and were ever so helpful in swapping rooms to a bigger one with a desk when we requested it on Day 2.
The location is pretty good in that it offers some peace away from the main hustle and bustle but it is not very close to the main tourist sites. The tram line on Stefanikova is only a 5 minute walk away and you can access the city from here. Beware though as you need a ticket which you must validate on entry. We were not aware of this and were lucky to avoid the tram ‘tourist’ police. Perhaps this could be an area of improvement for the hotel to advise guests? There is also a shopping centre with the usual Western brands and a Tesco supermarket nearby.
The standard rooms are quite small so best to pick a bigger room for more space. The showers are a wonderful wake up call in the morning! We had a room at the rear of the hotel for most of the stay and it is quieter than the front. However on one of the nights the crying baby in the room next door kept us awake.
