We stayed in this hotel for one night before we travelled out of Prague. the rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Excellent shower and we enjoyed the breakfast. Staff here were excellent and went public their way to help us with our onward travels. Such a shame they were fully booked when we returned as in the light of day we discovered the location was great.

I stayed at this hotel based on its stellar set of reviews on tripadvisor.com. I was not disappointed. The staff were *very* friendly and the room was spacious by European standards. The room had 2 twin beds and a large table for suitcases and it never felt crowded. There was ample closet space to the side. The bathroom was larger than an American hotel bathroom. The feel of the hotel was that it was very new. None of the hotel felt liked it was new furniture in an old building; this felt like a completely new hotel. (Not sure what its history is). Contrast this with a different type of European hotel room which, though clean, can be shabby and awkwardly designed due to the building it was in.

The service was second to none. Everyone was extremely helpful. We arrived early and our bags were placed under lock and key. When we left a taxi was summoned for us at the appropriate time. Questions, directions, everything was offered with hesitation and with a smile.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful: scrambled eggs, various hot meats, cold meats, cheeses, pre-made clever sandwiches, yogurts, fruits, vegetables; something for everyone. Given that we were staying 4 nights in Prague it was wonderful to wake up in the morning and start our busy touring day with a stomach filled with healthy foods.

Downsides? The hotel was not in the center of town. You had to walk to nearby tram and take it to your destination. My suggestion is that if you stay in this hotel (and I recommend you do) 1) get a pass to ride the tram for 3 days and 2) learn how to read the tram map. It's slightly tricky but that's the nature of the city and not the hotel.

The hotel did not have a restaurant for the evening. You could either get dinner out or do as we did: as for directions to the local super-grocery store (think American Super-Walmarts) and pick up a sub and soda. We picked up some groceries and stored them in the fridge. There are places to walk to near the hotel but not quite *at* the hotel.

Would I stay there again? Absolutely. The room and breakfast buffet were 5-stars. The distance from the city didn't bother us. Just perfect.

Room Tip: This hotel is not in the center of Prague (if that is your destination). Research the tram system to...

We stayed many times at this excellent hotel. Very friendly staff. Clean and nice rooms. Breakfast is delicious . Location is near tram and you can reach easily all major sights of Praque.
Opposite the hotel is a nice park. Nearby are a lot of good restaurants (for example Carmelita is an excellent Italian restaurant).

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend, booking on the advice of fellow Tripadvisor reviewers. We were immediately impressed with this hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the decor is funky - modern yet retro. Lots of wardrobe/shelf space. All furnishings were of a very high standard. The bed was large and very comfortable, and there is even a "pillow and duvet menu" in case you are not happy with the pillows and (2 single) duvets given. The room we had was on the 2nd floor and we were not bothered with noise from the street thanks to the triple glazing.

The bathroom was very spacious, with high quality fittings - a rain shower head as well as a handheld shower, and bath. Loads of shelf space for your own toiletries. Hairdryer in the bathroom, and magnifying mirror. Shampoo, shower gel & body lotion provided. Could have possibly done with a bath mat and/or a grab rail as I nearly had an accident getting out of the bath. I am sure however, that had I asked, one would have been provided. The bathroom fan was quite noisy but the fan does not stay on after you switch off the light so not too much of a problem.

Housekeeping was wonderful on the Saturday but on the Sunday the towels were changed but that's about it. I'm sure this was pure oversight and didn't spoil our stay in any way - we are quite capable of washing our own mugs out and managed with the toiletries/refreshments we had so we didn't bother mentioning it.

All members of staff were very helpful, especially Lucie, who gave us dinner recommendations (Kolkovnia Olympia was great!) and also helped us with our BA online check in when we had trouble with the Czech keyboard!

Breakfast was lovely, with some variation each day. Great range of fresh and delicious food - some hot. You can either sit inside, or opt for the conservatory area, or even outside on the patio.

The location is a bit of a walk to the old town. This is fine in the morning when it's cool and you're raring to go, but does feel like a bit of a hike when you're hot and tired and ready to head back. Having said that, the public transport is great should you wish to use it and costs only 110 Kc for a 24 hour pass. There is a tram stop at the bottom of the hill.

All in all, this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and would not hesitate in recommending it.

We stayed at the Red and Blue Design Hotel for three nights and overall really liked the hotel. The rooms were clean and very modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It is located in a quiet street just a five minute walk away from a tram stop. By tram it only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to all the major sights in Prague. The only negative thing about the hotel was its breakfast. The selection was somewhat limited, however, that wasn't the main problem... on the last morning of our stay we turned up for breakfast and found that several basic items (e.g. toast) were nowhere to be found. We asked one of the waiters if we could have some toast but were told that breakfast time was nearly over (it was 45 minutes before breakfast time was officially over) and hence the buffet would not be replenished. Things like this should not happen in a four star hotel. This put a somewhat disappointing end to an otherwise very pleasant stay.

Dear World_Traveller1982

Thank you very much for your review.

I was very surprised with your review and thus tried to contact you via trip-advisor message center, however, until now received no reply.

I am glad that overall you liked our hotel and I completely agree with you that things, like you describe in your review, should not happen in any kind of accommodation facility.

As I mentioned above, I was very surprised when I was reading your review as I personally check the breakfast once a week and always come to the breakfast room roughly 5-10 minutes after the closing time to check that there is still enough food and certainly to make sure that situations like you describe cannot happen.

The breakfast is served in our hotel until 10.00am during weekdays and until 10:30am on the weekends. I can imagine that there was confusion about the opening hours of the breakfast room, and I have to say that we have never had any complaint with breakfast closing down too early or the buffet not being replenished. Actually, we leave the breakfast room open for at least extra 30 minutes after closing time.

Nevertheless, since I have no information about the date when the described situation has happened, I am not able to go into the problem deeper and the only thing that I can do is to apologize for the inconvenience caused. I would like to assure you that I have discussed this matter will all breakfast staff members and made sure that something like this will never happen in the future. Even, when it is after closing time and there are items missing, our staff has instructions to deliver missing items directly to our guests table and provide everything our guest wishes.

I hope to see you in our hotel again!

Thank you.

Traveled here for a midweek break and was pleasantly surprised by the value for money.

The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the Charles Bridge which links to all the main things to do in Prague. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are more than adequate for a pair of travelers. Staff at the hotel are first class and cannot do enough to help.

A real bargain hotel which works well because it is far away from all the noise and tourist attractions, but still close enough to not need a taxi.
