Nice place, friendly atmosphere, well located on the main train line, 10 mins from the main attractions in Prague. A good value for money. I recommend it.-------------------------------------------------------------------

We booked into the apartments at sklep hostel and were thrilled to have a large room with a view of the park across the street. Decent walking distance from the train the hostel is a bit of a walk from the main area of Prague as well as from the castle which is located on the opposite side of the river. Would probably stay somewhere closer to the main town area but the hostel served it's purpose for what we needed and offered a great breakfast in a lovely patio area each morning!

This was the accomodation for my stag do in 2012, and I have to say I was very very suprised at how nice it was...
We were a group of 14 guys split inbetween a number of rooms, and the majority of rooms were brilliant, although all were well above average...
The facities were great, security was great, its right next to a tram line, and within walking distance to the heart of prague. We even ate a couple of times in the restaurant as it was good food... all in all a steal for the small price you pay and everything was perfect...

I can't fault this place...

Cheap. BUT. No buts. It was cheap, and lovely.
Except we wanted a double room and got a twin (though I expect this was our mistake.)

The room was basic but nice, oh yeah BUT nowhere to put your clothes, but this isn't really too important we're reckoning.

Someone stole my hair straighteners. But I left them in the bathroom, so pretty irrelevant in this review.

The kitchen facilities were great, especially considering the cheapness of the stay. Cooker, two big fridges, kettle, toaster, lots of kitchen surface for cooking. Nice couch, internet access. Everything you could want bar free alcohol, which would've been nice frankly.

If you don't want to cook, there is a restaurant attached to the hostel. You get a discount voucher for lunch and dinner. We had breakfast, and dinner. Garlic soup made my life. My main course for dinner was Sklep chicken with balkanised potatoes. The chicken was nice. The potatoes were rough. Too salty, waaaaay too salty. But they were balkanised, so maybe that's what that means.

Highly recommended if you're on a budget.

Room Tip: Don't get the twin. Or arrive a day early.
