“Modern, Green, Fun Hostel!”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

At first we had some problems with checking-in. However, a very nice representative offered to help us solve the issue. (Because it's a very popular hostel, many bookings are done on-line so there was an issue with double booking)

This hostel is very modern and clean. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as it was more like a hotel. We stayed in a 26 person- female dorm. I was nervous that we'd be woken up with that many people in one room. However, the room was HUGE and we barley had an issues with sleep. The room had a large private bathroom with 3 toilets and 3 showers -- wonderful! There was a patio outside of the room and large windows for a breeze. Everything was newer and the beds were comfortable.

The main floor has a bar and restaurant. The food and drinks a reasonably priced, and tasty.

The location is a bit far from the old town square, but no more than a 15 minute walk.

For the price, about 14 in Czech currency, it was a great value.

Room Tip: There is no kitchen, this can be an issue if you're staying for a few days, otherwise it's f...

Amazing hostel! I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was amazing ! Washrooms in the hostel are upgraded, better than a hotel. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean. Hostel is very safe! Hallways are locked and so are rooms, at night you need to be let in so ransoms wont come in. Staff is amazing, helped us to find stuff to do and cheap money exchanges.

In Prague just be careful of trams and your tickets. They have no remorse for travelers who don't understand how to validate the tickets. They fined a girl for not properly validating the ticket 800 korunas.

I stayed at mosaic house in a private room for 7 nights recently, and it exceeded my expectations. The staff were great and very helpful, the room was excellent and very quiet despite having a dorm room next door. Everything we needed was there including cheap laundry and free wifi. The bar was lots of fun and had good food and was good value. The pub crawl is fun too! The location is good, easy walking distance to all sites. Would definitely stay there again if in Prague!

The Mosaic House in Prague is one of the best hostels I have experienced in Europe. It is a fairly new property. Check-in was a breeze, facilitated by excellent, friendly, multi-ligual staff. Just beyond the lobby is a very nice bar (Belushi's). Plenty of TV screens, seating, and full-service bar. The rooms are what you would expect for a hostel - they do have hotel rooms that are more private. We found the rooms comfortable in most ways and a new, well-appointed insuite bathroom. Only drawback for us was the AC on warm evenings was inadequate. We could have left the window open, but there was some street noise that vanished with the windows closed - so pick your poison. The location is quite good as well - reasonable walking distance to the old town area (3 blocks to the river). There are also some good restaurants nearby and several nearby tram stops. Recommend buying a multi-day pass so you can get everywhere you want to go.

By far the best hostel/hotel i ever stayed at (superior ensuite helped but at a very fair price). The bathrobes and slippers was epic on our balcony sipping wine ;) Doubt i stay at such a luxurious hotel in a near future...

Excellent for the money. The room and the atmosphere where a step above what is normally seen in a hostel.

Mosaic house private rooms are just amazing. The decorating is superbly unique with the focus on the environment (saving it and recreating it). Our room was a quiet and tranquil escape from the hordes of tourists that descend on Prague. Also, fluffy towels, boutique shampoo, conditioner, toiletry kits, etc. provided... even chocolates on our pillows!

Mosaic is extremely clean and very close to many less-touristy bars and restaurants down hidden alleys and corners. It's also very close to the river where you can take a nice walk or jog to the left or head towards the heart of the touristy area to the right. There is a park up the street as well. We walked to the main train station, also...maybe 15 or so minutes.

Check-in is a bit slow and the lobby area has a very young feel to it like a hostel at night.

Excellent value overall. There needs to be more hostels and hotels that take steps to lower their environmental impact and provide budget travelers an economical and earth-friendly choice like Mosaic!
