Description: Why is there no listing for this place? It has some of the consistently best traditional Czech cuisine I've had in Prague! I went to write a positive review and it wasn't even listed!

When we saw the sign for a half liter of beer for 29 crowns, we had to stop. We ordered the cheese board and the pork knee. These were both very tasty. It was lunch time when we went and there was only one waiter and the place was fairly crowded. I watched him scurry around making sure everyone was taken care of. I was very impressed with his efficiency and attention. Since we used cash, we had no problems with credit cards like some others seem to experience.

We had just arrived in Prague and were trying to find a bar somewhere off the main square and after a bit of a stroll found this restaurant, as it was near lunchtime we decided to give it a go. There was a roaring fire in the stove which was nice as the snow was starting to fall outside, a decent selection of beers on tap and a massive menu!

The group settled down and enjoyed a Gambrinus beer (very nice, better than the Urquell), there were complimentary pretzels on the table that we tucked into and we ordered our food, it arrived fairly quickly despite there being 10 of us and I would heartily recommend the Brewers Goulash, very very nice.

Decor was faux rustic but nice enough, beer was good, food was very good.

We were hunting for the best pork knuckle in prague and were introduced to this place by the hotel and also rated best on Trip advisor.

Was about 5 minutes walk from our hotel and we ordered the garlic soup and pork knuckle... The pork knuckle was so tender and the meat just fell off the bone. The crackling was crispy and omg... my wife and I still drool just at the though of it....

We didn't eat here, but the beers were great as any other Prague breweries and pubs. They had this unique Fenix beer with lemon and corriander in it. The price is pretty low as it's somehow hidden and not to exposed from the squares.

Not sure where the slightly seedy image comes from... two of the best wine bars in Prague are in this street... there is one tiny pole dance bar currenty for sale with two rather sad customerless girls at the bar... all is visible through the windows. This restaurant is typically check and not geared for tourists, the prices are very modest, and in old eastern block tradition quanity is more important than quality... the beer is cheap, the food, mostly Czech, is ok and about 40% cheaper than in the main tourist restaurants.... with almost all mains under 300 crowns, pay cash if there is an issue!
