“Good & traditional”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

This restaurant in a square close to Prague castle. I have been in Prague many times and I´m happy to see how new restaurants with modern menus are giving their best to visitor. However in U Labuti you still find very good traditional menu. I had Prague ham for starters and goulash with knedliky as a main course. They have tastes as they should be and I really enjoyed it!
I really recommend this restaurant when looking for czech cuisine.

“The right place at the right time”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

We were a hungry group of 9 after touring the nearby castle in the morning. We stopped in at around 1230 and the restaurant was not very busy, although it did get crowded later. We ate for about 240 CZK per person (very reasonable). I had a wonderful goulash and a draft beer. Although service was a little slow, we would all recommend U Labuti.

“Quiet in the evening”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

We chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. Its location on top of the hill, close to the castle implies it is probably busy at noon, but very quiet in the evening. We arrived around 6:30 pm and were apparently the only guests. We chose roasted duck and tenderloin medaillons. The duck was really good, while the medaillons could have been more tender. The two dishes were served with 10 minutes difference as something apparently had gone wrong with one of the orders. We had hoped that at least one of the dishes would include a small salad, but ended up by ordering an extra mixed salad. Overall, the quality of the meal was fine, but the ambiance and service somewhat less convincing.

“Great find!”
Reviewed 3 April 2014 via mobile

We chose to eat here following TA reviews as it was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Arriving at 6pm, we were the only diners and would have been happy to sit in the cosy bar area. The staff then asked us to go to their dining room which was nicely prepared, clean and traditional because they had a party booking due and would be mainly in the dining room.
Both waiters were exceptionally polite and friendly, checking regularly to see how we we're getting on.
Now he food....
I chose the Svickova, sliced beef with dumplings and cream which was as good as any home-cooked version that I've tried before. My wife had Gulash which was also excellent. We had started with soup and a very nice grilled sausage.
All in, with a beer, water and a Becherovka to finish we paid around 625 kc, or £21, which I think is excellent considering that this restaurant is located within 100m of the castle entrance.
I will definitely go back when next in Prague!
