Prague was the second city on our long holiday and we couldn't have selected a better private guide pavel who was representing personal Prague guide.
Lanka who was coordinating my tour was very helpful and was in touch with me through out the trip. Infact we also booked out airport transfers with them and had absolutely no problems what so ever.
Would highly recommend their services.

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed Margeta. Her knowledge was extensive, and the way she handled my daughters was brilliant. We had just come in by train that morning and had hardly slept and Margeta understood our need to relax at one point and have a cup of coffee. During our little break, she talked about the history of Prague and made it come alive. We would recommend her highly for anyone coming to Prague, from people who are ignorant of Czech history, to those who are well-informed: she can add to anyone's fund of knowledge.

This review is of the airport transfer service. We used Personal Prague Guide to get from the airport to our hotel and from the hotel to the train station. If this review were based solely on the transfer from the airport, it would receive high ratings; our driver was friendly and helpful. One note: The transfer service is like Uber in that the drivers use their personal cars rather than taxi cabs.

The trip from the hotel to the train station did not end up happening because, after we had been waiting 10 minutes past the pickup time at the hotel, the driver called the hotel to say that he had just seen the reservation (which we had scheduled and received confirmation for two days prior) and would not be coming to pick us up. The hotel staff scrambled to find us a taxi (fortunately, there was one nearby and we had scheduled enough buffer time so we wouldn't miss our train). Personal Prague Guide had told us that the cost of the trip would be 400 cdz. When we asked the hotel staff how much the trip should cost in a taxi, they said between 300 and 400 cdz but that 400 cdz would be very expensive and it would probably cost a lot less. The cab driver charged us only 250 cdz, so almost half the cost of Personal Prague Guide.

My husband and I were very fortunate when we contacted Personal Prague Guide for our trip to the Czech Republic. Email in advance was responsive and detailed. We had booked two half day walking tours of Prague with a one-way transfer to Vienna via Cesky Krumlov. Then, the week before our trip, another company we had reserved a specialized tour with cancelled due to the guide's family emergency. So we emailed PPG again and they came up with another guide to introduce us to Prague.

Jana Horovska (our last minute substitute guide) showed up right on time and covered a lot of territory in just three hours. We especially liked the café she took us to (inside a Museum), as I was very jet lagged and needed the caffeine. She also recommended that we tour on our own the Slav Epic by Mucha, which we did later — we were very appreciative of this great advice. She also was very responsible when she realized I had overpaid her by an hour, and made sure our main guide, Jana Neubergová, gave us credit for that extra hour.

Jana quickly came to know us and learn of our interests -- and she was confident enough to recommended a change in our planned itinerary — instead of visiting Kutna Hora, as the guide books say to do, she felt we would love seeing the family rooms of the Archduke Ferdinand at Konopiste castle. She was so right; I'm sure Kutna Hora is a charming town, but Konopiste was an amazing treat and a real highlight of our vacation in the Czech Republic. We ended up with a private tour of the family rooms, and it is like a time capsule of history, as nothing has been touched since the early 1900s. Another special treat was when she explained the details of Operation Anthropoid and took us to see the crypt of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, where the Czech and Slovak assassins of the Nazi official Heydrich were killed. It was very moving to learn about this history. Jana's advice on what to do in Cesky Krumlov, and her arrangement for us to meet a guide there at a great restaurant, worked out really well. She is simply an excellent guide and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

It really makes a difference having guides that are knowledgable and passionate about their country and its culture and history, who are also good at tailoring the agenda for their customers' specific interests and needs. I highly recommend this service.

We met Marketa in front of our apt and spent the next 4 hours touring with her. She was an invaluable resource for our family of 4. We learned so much and she pointed out so much about the architecture that we would never have known on our own. She grew up in Czech Republic and experience communism, the velvet revolution and the separation of Czechoslovakia and the joining of the EU. She has seen a great deal and having that perspective really helped us appreciate what this country has been through. Prague has too much to offer to visit without a tour guide and I highly Recommend Personal Prague guide as your tour provider.
