my friend arrived in prague earlier than us and so when we got there in the evening, she told us that we are relocated to the apartment right at the old town square! she was smiling ear to ear as she opened the main door and revealed our view - it was a-ma-zing!

our apartment was on the perfect spot - great view of the church of our lady of tyn and the jan hus monument and just literally 10 steps away from the old town city hall and the very famous astronomical clock. the rooms are very pretty and beds are comfortable.

with such a great location and for the price, definitely the best apartment to stay at if you're in prague.

We booked 2 apartment rooms - 1 x 8 bed & 1 x 4 bed. When we got there we were told that we had to split 5 & 6 cause our rooms were taken by someone else, despite booking 1 month in advance. Told check in was at 2pm but then changed to 4pm. When we got to our apartment it smelt & looked as if it hadn't been lived in (or cleaned) for a few months. The group of 5 had a nice place but were moved on the 2nd night (to be fair, a hotel with free breakfast) cause that room had been reserved specifically by someone else! Our apartments were about 10min walk from each other. Just wish we had been told at the start.

Room Tip: Sounds like the smaller the group the better the room

CharlesBridgeBB, Manager at Charles Bridge Apartments, responded to this reviewResponded 7 December 2012

Dear guests,

We are sorry to read that you have not been satisfied with your stay. However there are some details we cannot agree with. 1. "Misleading advertising" - in none of our descriptions do we claim a separate living room. Largest room of the apartment is always described as a bedroom with living area, in other words, each room is used as a bedroom. We however promise to reconsider the description to make it even clearer. 2. Reception: receptionists take guests to their apartments, as these are located around the Charles Bridge. For that reason they are not in the reception all the time. For that reason guests are asked to use their cellular phones. The other alternative is to wait few minutes, they come back very quickly.

Positives:
Near the metro
Nicely Furnished
Decent Price
Very close to the Charles Bridge

Cons:
Not as advertised: We were traveling with 2 couples and a single guy. We booked the room because it was advertised as a 2 bedroom apartment (we even double checked when we got there because we almost left). The apartment we were in (the one closest to the office on the ground floor) was a single bedroom apartment with a double bed and a single bed in the living room (there was no door separating the room with 2 beds and the kitchen and it had a couch and a TV). Since we had two couples we were expecting 2 private bedrooms, not a bedroom and a living room with beds.

Noise: The bedroom (the actual bedroom not the living room) faces the street and the noise can be pretty bad depending on the night. Take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. As with most apartments you can also hear the people above you.

Checking In: Beware! you must have a cell phone that works in Prague, venture around until you find a pay phone (there is one relatively close to the Charles Bridge), OR be extremely lucky and hope the ladies are there to check you in.

All in all not a horrible place to stay if you're traveling with the right group. The apartment could easily hold a couple and 3 singles, 4 singles, or 6 singles if people are willing to share the bed. However, I can't recommend this place based on the false advertising and checking in.

We stayed in one of the "Charles Bridge Apartments" in Prague for two nights. Wish we could have stayed for at least a week. It was a fabulous location. You can walk anywhere from there, it was quiet at night even though the place was located above a Pivice (beer pub), but it was not noisy at all. Actually they had wonderful food at the restaurant.
The rooms were the size we expected, the linens and everything else very clean. The kitchen well stocked with what you would expect in a rental like that.
The staff who met us was friendly and accommodating.
Great value for your money.
It's not super-fancy - this is NOT a hotel, but these are actual apartments in actual old historic houses in Prague near the Charles Bridge. For us, it was even better than we expected given the cleanliness and great location.

Room Tip: Make sure you call ahead. The staff speaks English. Ask for the right size of apartment if you are traveling with more than one child. For us, the size worked out perfectly. With two kids, it could have been a bit crowded, but I'm sure they have larger apartments as well.

We had an appartment for 4 persons. With two big rooms, a kitchen, bathroom. The furniture looks really modern and new and everything works (TV, mikorwafe) - the only thing we couldn't find was a safe.

Walking distance to Charles Bridge was 2 minutes and it is in a beautiful part of prague (Kleinseite), with beautiful restaurants everywhere.

You can not really find the appartment so - there is no sciene. You have to call the reception and then they will open for you. The ladies there a very friendly and helpful.

We recommend the appartment, and if we come back, we will stay there again for sure.
