“A most wonderful hotel with extraordinary service”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in November during a trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we find it hard to come up with adequate superlatives. It really was a very special hotel and the staff (in particular Alex and Lucie) were nothing short of outstanding. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The room was superb, the daily wine and cheese tastings were a lovely wonderful way to meet other guests and to start the evening before heading out to a concert or dinner, and there were countless other memorable touches like the bottle of sparkling wine and note from Lucie congratulating us on our wedding anniversary and the beautiful fruit platter. Lucie organised a fabulous walking tour for us and tickets to a concert. The hotel itself is stunning but it the service that really makes this hotel shine.

Beautiful hotel with great staff. We arrived early in the morning, while our room wasn't ready we were shown to the spa where we could shower and change for the day. Jakob recommended a fantastic restaurant for brunch which we easily walked to. Our room was beautiful, quite large, with a very large bathroom. We enjoyed a complimentary evening wine and cheese hour, and a great breakfast the next day. Eddie the butler was polite, friendly, and clearly took pride in his work. Would stay again and recommend to anyone.

When you read reviews of a hotel where everything sounds too good to be true it can be a bit scary. You set your expectations for this magical experience, cross your fingers, and hope that you won't be disappointed. Well, I can very comfortably say that there is no way that the Alchymist Prague Castle Suites could disappoint. The hotel is stunningly gorgeous. The views are breathtaking. The staff bends over backwards to provide the most professional--yet personal--service imaginable. I must give a special shout out to Alex. He was the butler for most of our stay, and his easy smile and willingness to help with any and all requests was incredible. A few other notes: the location is wonderful, just a short walk to many of the major sites; the restaurant recommendations from the staff were great--well worth taking their advice. Oh, and there's something to be said for the hotel providing a car and driver to pick you up from the train station or airport upon your arrival. That extra bit of luxury after a long journey was lovely.

This hotel met all our high expectations. It is a beautifully restored mansion in a lovely quiet location in the Mala Strana very near the Charles Bridge, so very convenient for sightseeing. The decor is luxurious old world European, the rooms are outfitted to a very high comfort level, and the service was second to none. As there are only 8 rooms total, I don't think you would receive as attentive a level of service at a Four Seasons. No request or question was too much and everyone was lovely to interact with. Nothing was rushed. They also provide access to the gorgeous spa in their sister hotel which is a few minutes away. Would very gladly return.

LOCATION: Excellent location on a very quiet street near castle. About a 10 minute enjoyable walk to old town center and dinner/sites. It was nice to come back to a quiet place in the evening.
TYPE OF ROOM: We had the first floor room. Initially we feared that it would not be private enough as it is off of the area for the massage room. But it was quiet and we grew to like it. Overblown fussy décor; no desk area, too many small useless furniture pieces. I would prefer a room with fewer décor items and useless tables, and more functional pieces.
BED/SHEETS/PILLOW: Bed and pillow were comfortable; Linens were of high quality.
LIGHTING: Good lighting in bedroom and bathroom.
BATHROOM/SHOWER: Bathroom was of good size. There was no separate shower. The bathtub was really deep and being short, I had to lift my leg really high to step into it. The tub floor had no traction/adhesion and I was afraid of slipping on the tub floor, especially as I was off balance due to stepping into such a high tub. I asked for a plastic tub mat, and one was provided. I think a tub mat is a necessity given the depth of the tub and the lack of a rough/non-slip tub surface.
TOILETRIES: High quality, but we had to request a bar of soap for the tub; only one bar of soap was provided initially and we refuse to move the bar between the sink and the tub.
CLEANLINESS: Hotel is well kept.
A/C: We were warm, and opened our windows. It was quiet outside and we have no complaints. If we had not been able to open the windows, the room would have been too warm.
STYLE OF ROOM: Not my preference, too fussy and ornate (but they restored the hotel to all the original details of the house).
COMMON AREA: Beautiful common area but not really a place that I would choose to hang out as it too formal for my taste.
FOOD: Breakfast was good; juice, coffee, croissants, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt. And, you could order eggs or pancakes if you desires.
TV/INTERNET: TV is of good size. Internet is free and of good speed.
SERVICE: Service was excellent/superb; among the best we have experienced. All staff were incredibly nice and we would return on the basis of the service. They tried really, really hard to meet all of our needs.
SUMMARY: Great location, very nice rooms (although probably not our style) with friendly/excellent staff that provided superior and caring ervice. We would gladly stay here again.

Hello!

We are Egor and Maria, a young couple from Moscow (Maria) and Tallinn (Egor).
We chose Prague as the main destination to celebrate my lovely girl's birthday.
We honestly had one of the best times abroad from our homes. This was the first time when Maria searched for the hotel and it could not have been better! :)

It was important for me that she would like everything from start to finish, for which I am personally thankful to Alchymist!
It was her birthday and her emotions only got better with everyday! The Birthday breakfast
was great and the entire day of her Birthday was a very caring approach to her :)
I am exceptionally thankful for helping find flowers to be delivered to the
restaurant (in less than an hour before arriving there for the special dinner)!

We stayed in one of the best hotels in Europe and we do have the background for comparison.
Without any doubt this hotel and, most importantly, the attitude towards us (young people)
was absolutely on a cosmic, one of a kind level!

Me and Maria strongly recommend this hotel to all couples. Gentlemen if you want to pleasantly
enjoy your time together with your loved woman, then this is the place! This place is definitely worth trying instead of asking around how good it is. Be sure- it is amazingly good!

Thank you once again Alchymist Prague Castle Suites and see you again in Prague!

You absolutely have to go to the Alchymist Prague Castle Suites. This beautiful hotel was the manor of a merchant in 16th century. Starting with the way in witch they received you arriving , passing throw the gorgeous common space , arriving to the suites all if perfect, the furniture, marble bathrooms in old fashioned stile, linen and so on. All the employed speak a perfect english ( and not only) , they are kind, ready to satisfy all your wishes .
The breakfast is in a beautiful dining room with a big round table. With a rich buffet and other dishes expressly cooked .
And last but not least the aperitif with piano player .
I have been guest in many 5stars hotel all over Europe, but this is one of the best. Especially because the make you feeling you their most important guest, guest in their house.
