“Good hotel at reasonable location”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

We booked the hotel for overnight stay due to a gig in the city center. Previously tried similar hotel and found this better, therefore 3 stars.
One of the reasons we had chosen the hotel is the possibility to park a car for free just in front of the hotel (the parking zones end close to hotel and I would say this is one of the first places where you park for free).
The hotels are quite nice with a basic equipment, but good beds. We didn't spend much time in the hotel and therefore I will not complain about the not working wifi connection (we didn't try much to change it).
Breakfast is also just basic, but I didn't expect more and again was much better than other place I stayed before.
Public transport station is just in front of the hotel, even ticket can be bought at the ticket machine. It takes about 15mins to get to the center.

Arrived at the hotel and was a little scared from the outside-but inside is wonderful.
Our room was clean, and spacious. Nothing bad to say but nothing amazing either to report. It was the cheapest 'best' option on booking.com at the time so would recommend if you are looking for something that won't break the bank.
Receptionist speaks English too and there is a tram stop just outside the hotel.

Stayed here for four nights. Stuff was polite and helpful. Breakfest room large enough and food good enough as well.
All places around Prague easy reachable by tram or bus and all stops are very close to this hotel.
However this causes also one and only dislike about this place - noise from street. If you go to bed late - it's not a big deal, but if you have to get in bed early then it might be troublesome.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Otakar Hotel and found it to be quite basic. Our room was on the ground floor and very noisy from the reception area where people sat on an evening in fact till 4am Sunday morning. The staff were generally friendly and helpfull but not very welcoming on arrival. The room was clean with comfortable beds. But we had an awful drain smell in the bathroom. Good shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very basic with tasteless cereal, warm milk, meats and cheese, bread. Apples. Toaster was just a domestic one so very slow. The tram stop was outside the hotel and you could buy tickets from a shop around the corner.Taxi's cost between 300 to 500 ck. If I went to Prague again I think I would stay in the centre. If you want just a basic hotel with no frills then you would probably be happy with the Otakar Hotel.

I stayed here with my family for five nights. Clean place with helpful staff. The food is good. Very convenient for the tram (although that can be a bit noisy). I was impressed and Prague is a lovely city too.

Room Tip: Better to pick a room that is not ground floor and not at the back.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my elderly mum. It is a way out of the centre about a 15 minute tram ride. The room was very basic but comfortable. Breakfast again basic continental breakfast. The staff where very helpful and always polite. We tended to use the hotel just to sleep and stayed out all day and evening due to the distance from the centre. The area was fine and we always felt safe walking around at any time of day/night.
