We first visited this place while on a tour of Prague Castle, basically just stopped in for a beer, which was tasty. Since our hotel was nearby we returned for dinner that night and had Goulash and Pork Knee, both very large portions and very delicious. We liked it so much that we came back the next night for our final meal in Prague. We both went for the pork ribs, which were divine! A huge portion of ribs (more than enough for us), a side order of fries, several beers, and a brownie for dessert, and it all came out to less than $25 USD. The food came out very quickly both times we ate here, and we found the service good, though not overly attentive (fine with us). In high season I would imagine this place is always packed, but when we went there we didn't need a reservation (did sit outside once though, under heat lamps). The beer is good (though I am not a beer connoisseur). We liked both the amber lager and the dark beer very much. It is not as cheap as the pilsners you get everywhere else in Prague, though.

Huge portions, very reasonable price, amazing location, fun history, delicious food and beer. What else could you want?

Excellent local beer!! They have seasonal beers and also year round beers. The "smoked porter whisky barrel-aged" is a great beer!!!

We had a very short visit but my partner is mad about beer and ale making this a must see. The quality of food and drink is high and all delicious. In fact it was so good we returned the next day! Would highly recommend a visit.

Did some beer tasting here (very good) and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Staff is friendly, attentive and fast. Stake and Spareribs are recommended. It can be buzzy here, for a group it’s smart to make a reservation.

One of the highlights in the history of brewing. A wonderful location, perfectly situated next to the Church and the Library complex of the Strahov Monastery. There's a large choice of Czech food on the menu and ample seating arrangements. The service is attentive and the prices reasonable. The brewery is must when visiting the complex.
