Do NOT eat here!
Food was uninspired, greasy pizza, tasteless chicken salad, a Tiramusu unlike any we've ever encountered (with raspberry topping, and made nothing like a normal Tiramisu). Waiter was humourless, although he spoke OK French.
Worse, the bill was presented with à 10 % surcharge scribbled in ball-point pen that we were advised to pay (!) Restaurants in Prag MUST BY LAW charge all-in prices, no unexpected surcharges. Many diners are in the habit of leaving a tip, and 10% seems to be pretty standard. It is true that in some cases, locals advise as the pay, how much they intend to add for a tip... I don't appreciate however being told point-blank - "Pay ten percent tip".
Not possible to pay with credit card because "the boss says not to accept credit cards". OK - Euros. Fine - the bill has a euro amount, so we pay 50€ in cash, intending to leave a tip, for the 44.50€ equivalent amount also appearing on the bill. First, the waiter takes a very long time to come back with change, as if hoping we'll just walk away (as another Polish couple did earlier, out of exasperation at waiting). When he finally returned, and saw we were still patiently waiting for our change (5,50€) he avoided our table for a little while longer, then announced he had taken already taken 10 % !! He returned 15 Kroners! Even with adjustments, that's well more than 10% ! This is nothing less than fraud.
