“peaceful surprise...”
Review of Furstenberg Garden

Furstenberg Garden
Ranked #227 of 963 things to do in Prague

after spending a morning in the crowded castle, I wandered through the streets of the town below the castle, and found myself in these interconnecting private gardens. There were a few people, but the terraces give everyone privacy. It was a great place to take photos and rest a bit before going back over the river. These gardens are worth a trip to Prague on their own. Each terrace, and each property is its own special place that is peaceful and serene. Highly recommend.

Maybe at point this garden was lush and beautiful but now it looks like it hasnt been watered in years, literally every single flower was dead and we had to pay 50 kc to get it.

The entrance is on Valdstejnska and the exit is near the top of the Old Castle Stairs into a Cafe. You will not be able to ascend if you have mobility issues as it is a steep climb in parts. We were completely on our own in the garden and on a hot day in the busy castle district it trully was an oasis of calm. The bottom is level so mobility is not an issue and the whole garden can be viewed from this point. The entrance is up a long shaded drive and at the end was an outbuilding with an old lady in black with no english charging 50 CZK to proceed further. The website does not do this restored garden justice as it has come a long way since it was first photographed. The water feature is also very welcome on a hot day. If you are not looking for this gem you won't see it!
