Owner description: The lively center of Prague's commercial, social and cultural life, with shops, cafes, hotels and nightclubs lining its main avenue.

Wenceslaus Square is a must see when traveling to Prague. With the usual shops and eateries, it is an opportunity to flavor downtown Prague here. With a plethora of tourists from around the world, it is an opportunity to experience the juxtaposition of the old and new Prague. One very busy place seemed to be STARBUCKS on the Square. Patrons from around the world seemed to be intrigued with Starbucks and its many beverage and food offerings, including alcohol. I understand that it is not the place to visit in the late evening, because of the "seedy" characters who frequent the square in the evening, but you must visit during the day.

I advise you to choose it as the start of your tour in Prague. A wonderful square in a very good position! You will love it and you will love Prague!

Quiet charming place but full of seedy strangers and very weird food businesses. As we say in Britain, Not my cup of tea.

Had a bus tour which took us here, Probably great for shopping/ night life, not for sightseers. Seemed quite scruffy for a famous place. Did walk across the top of it from the "Dancing House" to Jindrisska Tower, which were both far more interesting places.

Wenceslas Sq exceeded expectations. A great cafe-restaurant culture with shops, fast-food kiosks, casinos, music events, retail & bric-a-brac outlets. Vibrant & cosmopolitan. A few tips:
1. At the eastern end is the National Museum - climb the steps to benefit from the elevated west-facing view down the entire length of the Square.
2. Cobbled pavements - so avoid high-heels and wear low sturdy footware to avoid any propsect of sprained ankles.
3. Try the COMO restaurant on the right-hand side, with the National Museum behind you - great rissotto & "soup-in bread".
4. English papers available at the kiosk top right hand side of the Sq when crossing over from the National Museum.
5. Continue the walk beyond the Sq into the Old Market Sq & beyond along "Karlova" to the Charles Bridge & Castle.
6. At the west end of the Sq [furthest from the Musuem] keep an eye out for notices directing you to "The Palladium" - a huge shopping mall over 4 or 5 floors.
Enjoy!
