“The only area we would stay if we return to Prague”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

Without really knowing a thing about where to stay, we booked a hotel the Lesser Quarter. It was just a 5 minute walk up to the castle and 10 minutes to the Charles Bridge, but significantly quieter and less crowded than the East side of the river!

“don't overlook Mala Strana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

We spent most of a day wandering the streets. The quarter burnt down in the early 1500s (?), so it was re-built in Baroque style. Wonderful churches, restaurants, buildings, gardens, you name it, and not nearly as crowded as the old city centre, although it is at the end of the Charles Bridge.

“The great Other half of Old Prague”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

The Lesser Quarter of old Prague, combined with the Old Historic Quarter, epitomizes what pre War, historic, Europe must have been like. It's Cathedrals, Concert Halls, narrow old cobble-stone streets, towers, exquisite as well as 'take-out' restaurants, bakeries, & spires, as well as it's many shops, make it a great place to visit. Combine this with the Old Historic area across the Charles Bridge, & it's difficult to envison a more enjoyable city in Europe to visit. p.s. as we left Prague at 4:30 a.m, the streets were filled with the young crowd finishing up the night. Prague has a very lively night life!

“Just walk!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

There are hundreds of small shops, coffe shops and interesting things to see without naming one. Coming down from the castle on foot, walk until you are too tired to continue.
