Owner description: One of the most historic sections of Prague, the Lesser Quarter features many Renaissance burghers' houses, baroque palaces, narrow lanes and spacious squares.

This area is nice place to stroll around.
We basically pass through this area on the way to the famous Strahov Monastery.
There also we can find a lot of restaurant and typical Prague wooden toy souvenirs shop which is very interesting for my daughter.
Indeed, it is a good place to hang around while you are in Prague.
But please just be ready that the road is going upward so sometimes for old people it can be tiring.

Wonderful restaurants, street artists, terrasses and beer :)
Take a view on top of the tower of the astronomical clock, great place to be and to hang out

It's quite easy to get pleasantly lost, especially after some Czech beer. Streets are narrow and curvy, buildings are beautiful and bars have nice beer, so it's actually really good to get lost there.

Without really knowing a thing about where to stay, we booked a hotel the Lesser Quarter. It was just a 5 minute walk up to the castle and 10 minutes to the Charles Bridge, but significantly quieter and less crowded than the East side of the river!

We spent most of a day wandering the streets. The quarter burnt down in the early 1500s (?), so it was re-built in Baroque style. Wonderful churches, restaurants, buildings, gardens, you name it, and not nearly as crowded as the old city centre, although it is at the end of the Charles Bridge.
