InterContinental Prague
Ranked #91 of 648 Hotels in Prague
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 22 August 2011

I stayed at the InterContinental in Prague for 2 nights on business with colleagues, and we held our conference here too. From the moment i started arranging the conference, the hotel and staff couldn't do enough for us.

The hotel is in a great location, minutes from the main square and right on the river. Also barely a minutes walk to the 'Bond Street' of Prague with great (albeit expensive) designer shops!

The rooms were a great, with a good size bathroom with a nice powerful shower. I didn't have a particularly great view, but a number of my colleagues did.

The bar and restaurant on the top floor were exceptional. Great food and service and stunning views across the rooftops of Prague. The downstairs bar was also very good and we were provided with a selection of sandwiches and paninis on our arrival which were delicious.

Breakfast was full on buffet, with a very wide range to choose from.

Although the hotel was busy with lots of tourists and a youth basketball team it never felt crowded.

The staff were friendly, helpful and approachable.

I hope to visit Prague again, and will definitely stay at the InterContinental.

as with all intercontinental hotels, this is beautiful. The roof has a wonderful bar with killer views. the whole city is very safe and I would have been happy in one of many hotels, but opted for luxury. It is located on the River, on the "rodeo drive" of Prague and within walking distance of everything. Food was quite expensive, but wine reasonable.

Just returned from a three night stay at the Intercontinental Prague. We were collected by a hotel car at the airport and the driver provided us with water and pointed out places of interest as we drove back into Prague itself. The hotel was amazing, with friendly staff and excellent food service. The reception staff were extremely helpful, they organised our taxi and luggage storage while we waited for our flight home. The quality of food in the restaurant was very good, especially breakfast. We also enjoyed spending time in the pool and the spa which was not busy at all. The bedrooms were very nice and clean and with three of us in the room we were not cramped. We has a beautiful view from the bedroom window directly over the river! The hotel is located really centrally for all the the local sights. The castle was about 20 mins; The Jewish Quarter was about 10 mins away; The Charles bridge about 20 mins and the hotel is surrounded by many different restaurants. We will definitely stay there again if when we return!!

Just returned from a four night stay in Prague at the Intercontinental. The location couldn't be better....easy access to all attractions, shopping and restaurants. The pool and spa are fabulous as is the outstanding concierge service. We ate wonderful meals at all the recommended restaurants which were within a short walk from the hotel. The rooms are somewhat small, but clean and very serviceable. In all fairness however, this is a three star hotel masquerading as a five star property. During our stay, there were many large tour groups which filled the hotel to capacity. The dining room can seat 120 people, but with 720 staying at the hotel, they were overwhelmed. It was a very unpleasant scene! Although the staff tried their best, the numbers and the loud and rude visitors from the large groups made for an impossible situation. If you are looking for five star treatment, this is not your hotel. The reception staff is brusque, unwelcoming and not anxious to help. The Internet charges are exorbitant and although the Manager will claim that they are typical, they are not! Go to
Starbucks or McDonalds for free wireless. Until management has an attitude adjustment, and unless location is your only priority, we would look for accommodation elsewhere. The rates charged far exceed what is appropriate for this type of property.

Room Tip: You must pay for an upgrade...no exceptions!

Thank you for your feedback and your comments shared on TripAdvisor.
I am happy you have enjoyed the central location of our property. The breakfast restaurant has the capacity of 160 seats, and you are right, if we have a full hotel of leisure guests and all come at the same time, sometime it is not easy to accommodate all needs and wishes. Regarding the Reception desk experience, I think that Czech people are not so temperament or flamboyant but more-less are strict and accurate but polite.
The internet prices are fully competitive on the Prague hotel market. The wireless internet is available in the lobby bar and the lobby itself. During the consumption in Duke’s Bar and Café (not valid for the extended breakfast during busy periods) you can get free WIFI access valid for 1 hour. I hope you give us another opportunity during your next stay.

We just spent 3 nights in the Intercontinental in Prague. It was located down the street from the main square in Prague, and right on the river. It is in the heart of the Jewish quarter. Very nice overall. Breakfast room was very nice and lots of food. Very convenient to all. Fabulous spa, but unfortunately, we had no time to use any of the facilities. We spent all our time touring, shopping, eating....
íinternet charges were high....

Impressive facade and location but the wows end right about at the check in. Service staff were generally cold, much like the Prague weather.

Price is reasonable for an Intercon but hospitality has much to be improved.

We chose to check out after two nights and booked a B&B two miles away for a third of the price and four times the warmth!
