We travelled to Prague 2 weeks ago for 4 days and stayed in Hotel Jalta. We were collected from the Airport from a nice guy. He was pleasant and took our bags. Was great organising the pickup and we were at the hotel within 30mins - the pickup was complimentary and we paid 700CZK for return trip to the airport.
On checkin we were greeted by Paul who was very friendly throughout our stay. Always said hi to us and was nice to be acknowledged. The room was exactly how it was pictured on the website but I expected to have a better view from our room other than the back of buildings. I was dissappointed that had we paid for a standard/deluxe room we could have had a view of the square but instead we paid extra for a Suite and didn't have a good view at all. I'm sure there is method to the setup of the rooms but I thought if you paid for a good room that you would get the best of everything, obviously I am mistaken. It was quiet at the back of the hotel so maybe that's the advantage.
There was no complimentary bottled water in the room, you had to pay for the bottles on the desk in the sitting room. They only cost 80CZK so it was very cheap but surely a boutique hotel would provide complimentary water to their guests. I've never stayed in a boutique hotel that you had to pay for water in the room. Also I was a little dissappointed that you had to pay per capsule to use the Nespresso machine. The mini bar was very cheap and we had a couple of items from it.
Breakfast was fine, huge selection to suit everyone and the staff were professional and the area was very open with lots of room and the setup was very comfortable.
We did not eat in Como which I regret as all the reviews online are fantastic. We did however have a few drinks in the bar every night before going to the room and the drinks were reasonably priced. On the first night after we left the bar and were waiting on the lift to take us to our room, our waiter from the bar came out to say we hadn't paid for our round of drinks, we quickly advised him that we paid one of the other staff as he was not around when we wanted to pay our bill. He did not apologise and we were left embarrassed going to the room. He should have checked this before being quick to think we had just left without paying our tab. The same waiter (I didn't catch his name) served us on a couple of occasions after that experience and made no attempt to apologise for his mistake.
Other than that experience every other staff member was pleasant and very professional.
We really enjoyed coming back to the hotel every evening and just sat outside the bar to relax just having a few drinks and people watching!! The bar is very nice and we enjoyed hanging outside for an hour or so before going to the room.
Location of the hotel was perfect, within walking distance of all the popular tourist places. It was only a 10min walk to the old town and this is were we spent alot of our time.
I would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel but maybe not the Suite as I don't feel as if we got value for money. We would return to this hotel again but would stay in a cheaper room.
