“Jalta Boutique Hotel.”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

We have stayed here for 5 night in this late July. First of all, this is not a Boutique hotel, it is maybe a 3 stars old hotel, with a wonderfull position in the city center, but never a 5 star Boutique hotel. The rooms as well as the rest of the building are "tired", the interior smells bad, the carpets are old and dirty, the bathroom is....... They have around 20 tv chanels and most of them are Chech and German.
On the second night there, we made a reservation at a restaurant not in the city center, we asked for a taxi and the girl at the reception called one.We later found out that it wasnt a taxi, it was maybe a friend of the girl there, who charged us 3-4 times the usual rate of a taxi.On the next night we asked the receptionist to call us a taxi, again.... he wanted to call the same person, even insisted... and after, when we told him that we are not interested ....he almost refused to help us, making us wait around 25 min- almost losing the reservation. If this is the policy of the hotel i don't have a problem, but they shouldn't do that by misleading the guests.
I saw the other reviews about Jalta and some guests complained about the breakfast. This, in our case was maybe the best thing with this hotel. It wasn't the best breakfast ever, but decent.
Also there is one more good thing to add, the wi-fi work fine, everywhere in the hotel.
In conclusion, the smell in the breakfast room, most of the guys at the reception, the 29euro/day parking, the old furniture(so old and stained that we couldn't put our clothes inside), the used towels.... all of that just didn't work for us.
I think, staying here was a bad decision for us.

Dear Mr. Henter,

thank you for sharing your experience with the service in Jalta Boutique Hotel.

I am truly disappointed about the level of service that you have experienced, especially in regards to the taxi transfer. The hotel is using own limousines, which are branded with the hotel logo. The drivers work with the hotel for a long time and usually have a nice working relationship with the staff. Under no circumstances it is possible that the drivers are relatives or close friends.

In regards to the charge, could you please provide me with more details on my email address pr@hoteljalta.com

On the other hand we appreciate your positive feedback on the breakfast selection and variety.

Mr. Henter, we are aware how difficult it is to reverse the spoiled first impression, however please rest assured the Management is taking care of this issue directly with the employee and the investigation is in process. We will provide a full training focusing on Customer service to all front line staff.

Looking forward to meeting you and maybe having a coffee the next time on your visit to Prague and Jalta Hotel.

Best regards,

This hotel is in a perfect position in Wenceslas Square, an ideal location for walking around all the sights. When we arrived the bell boy met our taxi and carried our luggage in for us. Check in was quick and friendly and we were given a nice cold glass of Prosecco whilst the receptionist gave us all the info we needed. Our luggage was then taken to our room. The room was very nice and spotless with a reasonable priced mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. We had a meal in the restaurant our first night and it was excellent. There is 10% discount for guests! 3pm-6pm is happy hour and guests get 15% of food and drinks! Michael makes excellent cocktails! Breakfast is excellent with a huge choice of hot and cold food. Prague was excellent and the Old Town so picturesque. Will be going back and will certainly stay at the Boutique Hotel Jalta. It also has an underground bunker, a museum from the Cold War days. Very interesting.

I stayed in this hotel for one night only, due to work commitment.
Overall good hotel - great location, good service, excellent breakfast buffet.
The free apples around the hotel were a nice added value.

We have just returned from a 4 day stay in Prague. Hotel Jalta provided us with a comfortable and centrally positioned base. The hotel is at the top end of Wenceslas Square and is a 20 minute walk from Old Market Square and the very picturesque central area of the city.
Our room was on the 7th floor and had great views over Wenceslas Square. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were very thoughtfully fitted out, the only shortcomings being a safe positioned in a cupboard at floor level ( not easily accessible for arthritic knees and stiff backs ) and a shower over the bath encumbered by the showerhead being positioned at the business end. The room was well stocked and cleaned thoroughly every day. All the staff members we encountered were well chosen and expertly trained. At the front desk staff, particularly Adele and Paul, could not have been more charming and helpful.
Breakfasts were included in the room rates and were of an excellent quality. Once again staff were ever present and helpful.
All in all the Hotel Jalta was a very good experience for our group and we would certainly return there.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at the Jalta in Prague and were very pleased with the accommodations and service. The hotel is very modern with beautiful decor and is situated in a very convenient location on the square within walking distance to most of the major sites and many restaurants. We were upgraded upon arrival and were on the 6th floor with a large balcony overlooking the square. Our booking included breakfast, which was wonderful both days. We also asked for a tour of the fallout shelter and, from what I understand, if you are a guest they will arrange a tour to fit into your schedule. David was our guide and he was an absolutely charming young man who gave us a lovely tour of the shelter, it's history and fun tid-bits about it's purposes. The only minor complaint is that if you are a light sleeper the closing of the doors by other guests early in the morning might bother you. The doors to the rooms are quite heavy and even closing them gently makes quite a lot of noise. It didn't wake my partner at all, but I am a light sleeper so it woke me. Ear plugs easily solved this problem the next night. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Jalta if you are going to be visiting Prague!

it is indeed a pleasure to read such a positive review. So first of all, let me thank you for deciding to stay with Jalta Hotel.

From your feedback I understand that your overall experience was pleasant and enjoyable.

I would reccommend to all future guests to try out fallout shelter and arrange for a tour with the reception. The service is provided complimentary for the hotel guests. The outside visitors are charged with small amount. Please see our website for more details.

The team of Jalta is looking forward to welcoming you again on your next visit to Prague.

Right in a beautiful square, close to all attractions. Lots of restaurants close by.But really why go out the in house restaurant is top class , and not too expensive, The staff could not be more helpful. It even has a under ground fall out shelter which you can arrange a tour. This Hotel is a real fine.

Room Tip: We asked for a room with a view. It was stunning.

The hotel is in a wonderful location. One can walk to most of the major sites such as The Municipal House, Mucha Museum and Astronomical Clock and lots of good restaurants. Public transportation is right outside your door.. The breakfasts are terrific and the waitstaff is very lovely and wonderfully accomodating. The reason I only gave the hotel three stars is primarily the gentlemen who work at the front desk are not at all friendly or helpful and seem to be trained to almost be punitive. The other reason(and less of a reason) are the rooms are sparse and small but definitely adequate. I would actually consider staying there again because of location and breakfast and just be better prepared for the rooms and front desk receptionists behavior.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has an inside door that opens to the outside balcony and not just a window. To...

Dear Guest,

thank you for sharing your valuable feedback on your stay with Hotel Jalta.

While going through your comments we note that there was some missunderstanding with one of our front office staff. We believe that there was no bad intention behind his behaviour, however it is highly unacceptable to neglect the usual outstanding service and attentivness that we provide to the guests.

Let us tackle this issue. We will make sure that all front office stafff will recieve an extensive training on Customer care.

On a positive note, we acknowledge your praise on breakfast selection and attentivness of the restaurant staff.

I personally hope that Hotel Jalta will be your choice on your next travel to Prague.

With kind regards,
