Excellent hotel. Very central. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent in a lovely dining room. Our room was very comfortable with bath robes provided and L’Occitaine toiletries. There was also a Nespresso machine and a separate kettle which is not usual.
One thing which made the hotel extra special was the tour of a nuclear fall-out shelter underneath the building. Anyone staying should make a point of visiting this. All in all a very pleasant stay. Will definitely stay again.

The simply reason I gave it 1 star rating it’s because this hotel doesn’t comply with the standards of a 5 star hotel as advertised. This is a misleading advertisement. The lobby is small, there is no concierge or security personnel by the door, we were attended at the reception by an inexperienced young man who didn’t even greet us, not even a welcoming smile or a short conversation about our trip. Their uniforms are dirty looking, unwashed, not a tie on sight or proper grooming standards, the waiters at the restaurant wear Nike trainers with their uniforms etc, The breakfast manager called PETR MAREK is the most rude, impolite person you will ever come across, he is someone who thinks is working in a pub and can talk to the guest however he pleases, he should get a proper customer training or find another job. The food breakfast is not fresh, every day the same thing, all is self service even coffee or tea. The back of the hotel is really noisy due to a building construction site (7 days a week, 12 hours a day), they don’t mention this at all when you do the check in!
I notice all of this because I’ve been working in the hotel industry for the las 16 years, all these years in 5 stars hotels in London and unfortunately I had booked this hotel with high expectations.
Any way the locations was good. But that was all about this hotel.

Dear Mario P,

Thank you for your detailed review. I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience during your stay at our property. I have passed your feedback to all departments mentioned as well as the breakfast manager (with whom we are planning to make appropriate steps to avoid our guests to feel unwelcomed). I would like to join the team in apologising for your experience. At Jalta we strive to exceed the guests expectations and I would like to assure you that we take our guests concerns very seriously. We operate our establishment within certain rank. If you felt that this was met only formally I will make sure to take all relevant counter measurments to avoid the obstacles you have came across during your stay in order to proof our level relevant. If it was the lobby design that made you feel constrained all the way to the higher frequency of security patrol although the property is under constatnt surveilence, or variety of the breakfast menu, I will investigate and make sure adjustments are done. At our property we value our guests privacy and therefore please apologise our staff for not giving enough questions that you might find appropriate. As you might have also experienced higher noise levels outside of the silent hours we were given only short notice from developer during your stay that the light reconstruction will take place within similiar period. We made maximum to minimise the impact of this activity within the neighboring location. We managed to relocate guests to the more calm part of the hotel as we understand the importance of rest during business & leisure visits of our capital even during the day. We are happy you have liked the location, as you have chosen to stay at the most vibrant centre of Prague. We are happy that you rested well at least during silent hours, as it might not have been to your liking during the day. I am sorry you have felt slight cultural diferences when dealing with our frontdesk staff. I will make sure our team will create more welcoming atmosphere for you and all other guests for upcoming visits. I would like to further discuss your experience at our hotel and act to compensate for your past experience if you will have a chance to visit us again.
Please for any any additional feedback or comments do not hesitate to contact me @ fom@hoteljalta.com

The Jalta Boutique Hotel is in a superb location in the heart of Wenceslas Square. We stayed here for seven nights in a Deluxe Superior Room. The room was very spacious with everything you could need including a massive comfortable bed, Juliet balcony with views over the square, very fast WiFi, loads of cupboard space and a great bathroom. The room was cleaned and restocked every day to a very high standard. On the down side, there is construction to one side and the back of the hotel. The reception staff were a little vague when we asked what time in the morning it started. They told us about 8am when in fact it is 6am although we only had a couple of disturbances from it and I'm sure they would have changed our room if we had requested it.

The breakfasts are very good with lots of hot and cold food options and it was never too busy. It was also nice to sit on the outside terrace on warm mornings.

There is a Cold War Bunker underneath the hotel which you can pay to have a tour of. However, the hotel lets guests see it for free if you ask at reception. It is really interesting and if you are staying here, you should definitely have a look.

As previously mentioned, the hotel is in the perfect location for exploring with lots of attractions only a short walk away. Overall, we had a great time at the Jalta and the staff are very helpful when required. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

What made this hotel was the staff, first class, attentive and very helpful.
The hotel sits at a good location to accommodate us for a few days city break. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found it well presented.
It could be said that parts of the building interior are a little 'dated'
BUT.. the hotel supplies everything to compensate from a great bed that offers a great night sleep to slippers and a bedroom robe.
Breakfast: if you are disappointed then you are too fussy.
They cater for all; for the Brits- hot grill food. The Europeans -continental style and something for visitors from further afield.
Under this Hotel lies the Cold War Bunker/Museum: the crisis fallout shelter....Free to residents, worthy of a visit!
NOTE...Some Information: we booked a few trips at reception now generally all went well but when one did not Reception staff managed a fair % refund. Good on them! ( imagine booking direct- would we ever had such an easy redress and refund- lesson learnt: Book your tours through your hotel.)
