“Central location & friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2012

Spent a few days sight seeing with my wife for our 20th anniversary. We found the location to be optimal for walking to most major attractions, and very good for shopping. The staff was very helpful in booking day tours for us. The concierge lounge has a great breakfast buffet and snacks in the evening. The WiFi is a bit expensive.

1. Very good location for Hotel from the city tourist attractions.

2. Housekeeping really good in providing bathroom supplies. Although only provided mouthwash a day before we were leaving.

3. Comfortable beds and very quiet place to spend the night after touring the city.

3. Good business center for computer use albeit 15 minutes, and they have this posting that said if you use it for more than 15 minutes, your room will be charged......not many people use the business center after certain hours......so i think a little more than 15 minutes isn't bad.

THINGS THAT NEEDS TO BE WORKED ON:
1. Front Desk agents are not really receptive....that one would think they are not friendly, although some are. You stand in line before you are helped and no acknowledgment that you will be helped shortly. So not to the standards of what we have here in the U.S.

2. Some front desk agents are always looking down on the computer instead of looking up even on a non-busy check in day...so can be thought of as non-acknowledgment when standing in line or when passing by.

2. One of the concierge was not really helpful, she couldn't even suggest an affordable and good restaurant within the area.

3. Wrong information was also given regarding amount of liquids that can be brought in to the U.S.

4. No wi-fi access in rooms....you have to PAY a ridiculous amount which includes breakfast which is absurdly costly.....thus i am giving a POOR rating as to breakfast....am sure the menu was good and delicious but with the price i think it is just absurd....breakfast buffet for someone who only eats toast, coffee and a fruit? you must be kidding me.

Perfect location, so close to everything, nice rooms, really clean, very comfortable beds, nice and quiet. Really friendly and helpful staff, will get you anything you need at a moment’s notice. The executive lounge was great, had everything you could need or want. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city.

I travel internationally on a regular basis and this hotel has perhaps the best service I have ever encountered. While the rooms are very nice, well appointed and clean, and the restaurant and bar are above-average, it is the work of the concierge staff and others that sets it apart. I would highly recommend it to others and will always stay there when I am in Prague.

My wife treated me to a trip to Prague for my B-day to research family roots and visit this jewel of a city. We just spent 11 nights at this wonderful hotel on the executive level-amenities were fantastic ranging from a continental b-fast w/hot eggs, bacon & sausage to the all day availability of a variety of beverages and cookies - and the coffee/cappucino/espresso machine is to die for and is fully automatic. Evening hospitality period brings out hot hors d'oeuvres and additional veggie and other snacks and foods - sometimes negating the need for dinner. The hotel staff is friendly and speaks fluent english along with other languages. Concierge was very helpful in assisting me with subway directions to the State Archives to do genealogical research. Room was clean and has a mini-bar fridge and an in room safe. Front doorman Jiri was helpful as was Stepanka who works in the executive lounge - she is an employee this hotel should be proud of. Hotel is a short block from the subway and tram stops. Very close to the entrance gate (Powder Tower) to old town. There is a Hilton across the street but you can't compare it to the Marriott - the Hilton barely has a lobby. There is a Billa Grocery store steps out the front door and the Palladium shoping center is a 4 minute walk and has 200+ stores and another grocery store (Albert) on the lowest level. Overall this is an A++++ property and is highly recommended.

Our Marriott experience in Prague was outstanding and one we recommend highly. The location was perfect, which is especially important in a walking city like Prague. Thanks to special attention of Angela Petráková, Guest Relations Executive, we booked our reservations online and were pleased with the ease and efficiency of check in. In addition, we were upgraded to a mini suite with free wifi -- a big plus. We loved the hotel's concierge service, which provides food from 6 am to midnight daily, for weary travelers like us. We also recommend the hotel bar and restaurant, providing excellent food (local and American) with attentive service. This hotel is now one of our favorite Marriotts.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. It is why we chose it. Also because we spent a lot of nights in Marriotts.

One evening we returned from a concert to discover the wi-fi was down. We called down and they told us it was being fixed and should be up in about 10 min. About 1/2 hour later we tried again. Still not working, so we went to bed. Next morning it is working fine. That afternoon we received a fruit plate in the room from management apologizing about the "inconvenience.". Not expected, but nice surprise.
